Trainee haircut disasters. Recall the one and only time happened to me. She slipped with razor and put tram line down one side . Thinking it would look better with same other side . Looked worse. so ended up walking out and going elsewhere Ended up getting a Marine style haircut and employer banished me into back office until it had Re brown back.
Don't do it unless you want to end up like this......

Oh one experience then... Give them a break. Everyone has to start somewhere
I am sure they will be supervised. I used a trainee Salon before and apart from the the head massage and £15 saved no difference to Toni and Guy
"£1, but I pay £5 last week!"

If they mess it up a trainer/director will usually take over so it's win win really - unless they mess up real bad! Most academies and colleges do this type of thing or more often free cuts as much more cost effective than buying wigs. Not sure I would trust a college though as don't need any experience at all to start courses and they tend to rush you into cutting. Salons are a bit more selective.

sweet now I can finally get that ear lopped off
normally fine haircuts just tend to take a bit longer
I went in...Told me to get out.
Don't mind me - just here for the comments. X)
Because what we need more of in Nottingham is god damn hair salons. There's effing THOUSANDS of them!!

NB: another new one this month opening at long row entrance to west end arcade. Woooo.
Though I don't live in Nottingham but the local colleges or company 'hair academies' are usually really good value. As others on here have said, the trainees are closely supervised and the only downside is they make take a bit longer than usual. I had a cut and blow dry at Edinburgh college that was better than Charlie Miller (which cost 50quid) and was given a hand massage at the same time, very relaxing and only 5pounds.
The difference between a good haircut and a bad one ...

I went to a college that did hairdressing & beauty therapy courses In my day if you were doing a hairdressing course at college you were not allowed to cut a real persons hair before you'd had lots of practice on a styling head and were deemed proficient enough to cut real hair there was always a course teacher around supervising everything the students did and ready to step in to avoid a major disaster
