I managed to bag a year up to next January, but I've not really played much off it. I bought the season pass for RoTR sometime last year so I've been having the occasional mooch on that. I did play Sea of Thieves, then I quickly didn't play Sea of Thieves.

Game Pass is going to be a must have product in the lead up to the back end of the year, State of Decay 2 and Crackdown 3, plus Forza Horizon 4 on launch and FM8 (assuming we see it this year). £96 a year, it's a no brainer. Not to start a war, but you could even compare May's new additions to this month's Games with Gold and PlayStation Plus just to see how apparent the value it
If I sign up will I be paying full price each month after or is this one month only

It'll be the £7.99 a month after the initial 'free trial' month.

Dont mention Playstation... I mentioned it once but I think I got away with it!

Agree - I think my crazy purchases in last year or so meant I didn’t feel I’d play anything right now -

Forza Horizon will be when I’ll need to get it! 100% but having you break it down like that makes perfect sense tbh!
I just finished my 2 months free from wuntu and also have this available on my dash, might be for lapsed subscriptions too

This is my pet peeve with the otherwise excellent game pass. I wish instead of all these faddy first month £1 offers, which are useless after your first month, they would let you save money by subscribing for longer like Xbox Live Gold, or even offer a couple £ per month off for those with Gold as well.

I would like to stay subbed to game pass long term as the games available are impressive, but object to paying £7.99pm and find it gets frustrating having to always hunt down new deals or create new accounts, dunno why MS seem so resistant to implementing some kind of long term sub model like they did with Gold

There was a mention on Reddit about a month back regarding Microsoft issuing a survey to see if people would be interested in a joint subscription (Game Pass and XBLG). I personally think at £96 per year, regardless of how I'm paying it, that Game Pass is value.

Hopefully we will see better sub options available in the run up to the end of the year, Microsoft have pretty much shown their support for Game Pass going forward, and I genuinely think it will become a major player for them, especially at the moment where exclusives are thin to non-existent

My son had this from Wuntu as well and his has just finished. If he opts in for this 1 month offer, can I cancel the subscription shortly afterwards so that I do not get billed £7.99 next month - is it easy to do that? Thank you.

I've been having a look on-line. I can't seem to find any cheap game passes for people that have already joined. My son had a 2-week free trial, then added 2 free month codes from Wuntu. Am I right in thinking that as he had a free trial and 2 free monthly codes (from Wuntu), he won't be able to take up this offer for a £1.00? On eBay I can only see cheap passes, but they just say for new customers only. Is there a site where you can actually get the passes but pay less than the standard £7.99 monthly fee? Thank you.
Thanks op 👌
That's great. Hopefully the usual trick works. Cancel 1 week before renewal, get the £1 back and get £5 free credit for playing & installing several games
I am the only person who thinks games pass is shockingly bad? For the yearly spend of nearly £100 to rent mostly old games that have been given away free. For the £100 I think you are better off buying Sea of Theives, ROTTR and get a 12 month Gold sub with the change

Depends on the users. I'm having similar profile like you, I play less time hence more selective and tend to own the game. Other user play often and like to try various games. Tbh, I can see the appeal of the game pass - you don't have to own the game but you can play everything on it. Some ppl can finish the game before 1 month and after finishing it, you may not want to play it again so no point owning it

Yes, very easy to do. Log into the Microsoft account here:
account.microsoft.com/ser…es/
Then turn off auto-renew. You can do that as soon as you've paid the £1 or just make sure you do it before it auto-renews!

My son bought an XBox gift card a few weeks ago and purchased an on-line game. He told me last night that he still had £1.86 credit on the gift card. When we looked on his dashboard, he had the option of a 14 day game pass trial, or a month for a £1. He selected to use his gift card balance but then we were asked to pay the extra with Paypal or a debit card. Am I right in thinking that you can't use any credit on a gift card to purchase the 14 day trial or one month for a £1 - that you have to enter your bank/Paypal details then?

At the moment I agree with you, when the new games are present, things will look a little better.

You can't, as it's new accounts only. Unless of course you have another gamertag you want to use on his Xbox......

Not tried that myself to be honest, but since it is effectively a cheap first month of a subscription service, you would assume they would need card/paypal details to process that subscription (if you were to keep it)
I did the 2 weeks free trail awhile back, just done this. Does work for renewal if you don't have a rolling plan

I've got a lapsed sub but no offer for me.
I only ever get £1 once you get, when it finishes just ignore all offer until get £1 offer again, ok if you only want it occasionally probably in year will get offer every 3 months on average

I think game pass is only good value if you get it really cheap. The standard price of £7.99 per month doesn’t really represent good value at all as the majority of the games are rubbish. The only games I wanted to play out the whole lot were sea of thieves and state of decay however I agree that if we see FH4 this year and that’s a big if plus Crackdown 3 then it will be represent slightly better value. Tbh though as an owner of both consoles Xbox needs something to get it going as it’s currently getting smashed into oblivion by much much better PS4 exclusives. I only switch my one x on these days to play FM7.

Doesn't work for renewal have just checked.
A rolling plan IS renewal.

A lapsed sub is a different story.

I am also lapsed and seeing the offer for £1 (the 11 remaining days suggests it will end Weds 9th May).
The offer isn't showing for me but my game pass doesn't run out till tomorrow, hope it gives me the offer. Great deal!
