Think PaulCoops meant to say;

Op think you did a little mistake on the title regarding the price for two sharing at £55 should be £27.50 p.p. Still a great price for two sharing with breakfast..
Have some HEAT
I don't think this is close enough to Derby that you could walk into town.

Heat from me
the place is a mess at the minute as it's being turned into a Holiday Inn hotel. It's so dated and bland.

If you get a bad room all you'll hear is the M1

"alluring tourists to the English countryside" ummm you'll still need to drive an hour to get to the good countryside.

some people even get married there....sends shivers down my spine!

That's a plus.
This is literally on the M1, close to a designer outlet mind.

You could use it as a base to get to the surrounding peak attractions (midlands railway museum, Matlock Bath, white post farm) but if you’re after a proper week away in the peaks you might want something the other side of the M1.

Ive stayed at the hotel before. Not bad, but quite dated. You get what you pay for!

Voted hot, as I paid nearly twice this last year.
Good if you fancy shopping at the worst designer outlet in the UK.
Stayed here once. Very poor. It's going to be a holiday inn but not quite there yet. Rooms very old and terrible staff. Never again
Used to work across the road from this place.

Under no circumstances should you book this place expecting any sort of reasonable stay. It’s in a horrible location, horrible run down surroundings (on the edge of a run down industrial estate), it’s miles from absolutely anything of any interest, and the hotel itself is horrific.

A stay here (for any reason other than absolute necessity, work etc) would be an absolute waste of £55.
We stayed here last month £79 for evening meal & breakfast??? It's not the ritz, but for £79 what do you want people??!! The wife was very pleased (if you know what I mean! ) Cannot believe some of the comments!
