That might not be a bad deal but the issue is what you get as part of the deal. You start off in Tilbury and then end up stranded in Newcastle. All in all, you then need to get yourself to Tilbury to start and then back wherever you started from and you wont be able to reasonably use a car to do that. It would be a better deal if it was Tilbury/Newcastle to France/Amsterdam etc with a few hours at the destination before being returned back to where you started.

As it stands you'd need to budget for a train ticket or other transport back to wherever you start and also the ticket to Tilbury. Assuming you start in central London it's around £10 to Tilbury and £30 back midweek by train. More on a weekend which I'd guess most people would do as that's when most people are off work.

So I'd rather pick one of the more sensible cruises for the same kind of money

It'd be better if the cruise ship just stayed in port, enjoy the facilities and get back in your car the next day. Is there an option to book the return leg back to London?

if you want to get to Newcastle from Tilbury and are not in a hurry cheaper than the train and plane probably

Exactly! Who wants to be brought up to Newcastle and not returned? If Newcastle people drive down to London, their car will be left here then they'll have to come back to collect it. It seems gimmicky and a waste of £69.

If you wait until October-March, you can get a return cruise Hull-Amsterdam for £37.50 each based on 2. No need to be stranded without a return. Crap "deal".

This is a regular thing for Cruise and Maritime, I was on a 7 night cruise with them from Newcastle to Norway via Dundee and there were 300 women from Dundee who were having one night on board, they had coached to Newcastle and were sailing back to Dundee. They had paid £29 each (including coach!)

One day only - 24th May.

If you happen to be hanging around the North East/Scotland after that for a couple of months, you can book a return from Rosyth on 23rd July!!!

Just need to factor in 2 months car parking at Tilbury!

Your basically pay them to move the ship to its next port. Royal Caribbean sometimes to one night cruises to France. Well worth it.
