Lovely part of the world there, been there a few times and Dalwhinnie distillery is not too far
Is this the hotel that sacked all its staff at a moment’s notice when lockdown started?

It was the Coylumbridge that made the news for doing that.

Thank you. I’ll book.
As people say half an hour from Aviemore.

Anyone who likes their beers checkout Cairngorms Brewery and their pubs in Aviemore. Lovely place bargain
It’s near the highland zoo to go see hamish the polar bear. Great area of Scotland

Stayed at the Highlander a couple of years ago. Got a good deal through Expedia (I think?) and topcashback. Was a deal based on dinner and breakfast for 3 nights. The evening meals are very much "home cooking" style, which was well received, after a day skiing. Think it was around £100 per night for 3 of us so this is a very decent rate.

Have also stayed for a couple of nights at the Hilton Coylumbridge, which was excellent. I used my points to stay there for two nights but I could have stayed in other Hilton properties for a small fraction of the rate! It was also on a dinner and breakfast basis. The breakfast was absolutely first class and all of the staff very friendly. Rooms were not what I'd expect at a Hilton but perfectly adequate.
Stayed here once. There was a Young Farmers Conference on that they didn’t warn us about when we booked (despite them claiming they had because “they always do”). About a hundred heavy drinking farmers kept us up all night, and the food wasn’t good either. I would not recommend...

Great stance though, in case it was the w⚓ hotel.
Are these any good for one night stands?

Couldn't agree more, best breakfast ever, you wanted for nothing. Rooms like you say fell below a Hilton expectation.
Thank you. I’ve booked!
One point to note about the Highlander is that it's a very "dog friendly" hotel (it was when I was there). If you've got issues with dogs or have allergies, make sure you discuss this upfront.
A friend said when he went they said he had booked two rooms, he said this must be a mistake there can be only one

Just booked for 2021, I'll take the chance on the weather. I'll be ending a weeks holiday in Caithness, added this as a stopover on the return leg.

Edit
Just noticed the 'WELCOME' bit on the OP, price was right so I take it I've missed out on the food & drink vouchers, ...ksara

Coylumbridge was bought over by brittania hotels rubbish now.pity as we loved the family deals when kids were young.yeah rooms and stairways were dated even then.

I won’t ever stay there!
Stayed here every year for the last 5 years for a 2 night break, food is home cooking style and the rooms are average. We take the dog with us and they are very friendly, 20 minute drive to Aviemore. Going back again this year so might just add another night, thanks OP
Doesn't seem to be an option for adding a child /family room?
HOT. I didn't use this hotel but I needed a hotel in Inverness and the WELCOME code gave me a very nice discount.
When you take into account the cost of a breakfast and the food and drink voucher you are virtually staying here for free.
Had the misfortune of staying here last year. The food was awful, unwelcoming. Lost our booking, couldnt get checked in. Room was ok got to give them that at least but very outdated building entrance etc to it. They would have to pay me, for me to go back. Beautiful part of the world though.

Cheers, it brings it down to the same price, although all users can now pay £47 instead of just new users

Ah nice ok, might have been that, coz I am an existing user and the mentioned code didn't work
Such a beautiful place to visit. Got a giant canvas of a photo of a nearby lake hanging on my wall as I write this. The drive around there is like one of those old Top Gear episodes that actually make you want to get in a car.
Stayed here a couple of weeks ago. The room would have been considered basic in the 70's (hasn't been redecorated since then either by the looks of it). Drink prices were ok but we worked through that £30 voucher pretty quickly. Honestly, wouldn't recommend it.
