Thorough the Tesco Clubcard Scheme scheme website, by redeeming £10 worth of clubcard vouchers the disabled railcard can be obtained for half the standard price. On purchasing, the codes will be sent by email, valid up to 6 months... I'm not too sure if you can code stack with code SPRING20 (Expires today, thanks to OP Spunik,) however that aside it represents an excellent saving...hope this helps someone.

According to the website yes;
" If you're travelling with an adult companion they will get 1/3 off their rail fare too"
but presumably you'd have to apply for the card in your daughters name.
Are You Eligible?
The Disabled Persons Railcard is for people with a disability that makes travelling by train difficult.
You will qualify if you:
receive Personal Independence Payments (PIP)
receive Disability Living Allowance (DLA) at either:
the higher or lower rate for the mobility component, or
the higher or middle rate for the care component
have a visual impairment
have a hearing impairment
have epilepsy
receive Attendance Allowance or Severe Disablement Allowance
receive War Pensioner's Mobility Supplement
receive War or Service Disablement Pension for 80% or more disability
buy or lease a vehicle through the Motability scheme

There's a list of what proof they accept on disabledpersons-railcard.co.uk/are…le/

From the Railcard Website FAQ:

I'm a child and I have a disability. Am I eligible for a Disabled Persons Railcard?
A:
Yes.

Five to 15-year olds that are eligible can apply for a Disabled Persons Railcard. While the Railcard doesn't offer discounts on child fares, it will allow one person travelling with the cardholder to get 1/3 off most rail fares.
If you don't have any clubcard vouchers its worth checking with your local council if they offer the disabled rail pass at a discounted rate. My local council does it for £13 a year. This deal is obviously better though. But its better than paying the full retail price of £20. Just thought I'd mention it
Where do you add code Spring20?
Sorry, daft question.... what are the restrictions in terms of where you can travel? I couldn't see anything in the T&C's. Would this allow rail travel all around london?

Hello,

If you tell be which train service you catch, you may be able to get it for free. Just type below which train e.g. london midlands, virgin, cross country, etc...

Some services will allow your daughter to go for free, and all you have to do is pay 1/3 on your own ticket.

Yes, this allows all around london. But remember, this is only trains! Not buses.

Not going to bother renewing mine, you can use your disabled bus pass on the train in Wales on the Valley lines as far as Cardiff ;-)

Although oddly does give a discount on Emirates Cable Car.
I am partly deaf and have a three year card. It entitles you to discount for whoever is travelling with you too which is good as I've missed a couple of trains when there has been platform changes and I haven't heard them!!
lol...........anyone know how I can get a cheap first class yearly season ticket from Birmingham New Street to Milton Keynes Central ? Currently paying £120 a week to get to work, the yearly first class costs £7890 a year, which I'm planning on getting.....

Hi, even if you can you might be better off with a 'Family & Friends' railcard. Requires 1x adult and 1x child to travel but gives something like 30% off adult fares and 66% off kids' ones (from memory). Furthermore you can have up to 4 adults and 4 kids over 4 travel on it, plus 4 more kids under 4 - so great for group days out too.
