"Fuming". Get a grip. You're the sort of person who gets these kind of deals stopped, using ID that isn't your own and then kicking off over it.

Are Morrisons going to absorb that extra 10% loss from their profit …Are Morrisons going to absorb that extra 10% loss from their profit margin, or will they simply get it back later from the rest of us?

Good question.

As an NHS worker I've similarly been wondering about the impact of the furlough scheme, self employed support and business loans on the amount of income tax I'll have to pay in a few years time. Because the government sure as hell won't be "absorbing" the cost.

The amount of bitterness in this thread is astounding. As a highly skilled front-line NHS worker I have benefited from a gillette razor, a pair of socks from a local business, £8 off some pizza in a local restaurant, and about £10 off my shopping at Morrisons. (And claps, can't forget about those).

That's how much better off I am for working longer hours and putting myself at substantially increased risk from covid positive patients with rubbish PPE.

We've had no "hazard pay" like healthcare professionals in other countries. Nor have we been able to claim furlough and pick up a second employment like many. Yet you'd want to begrudge people like me of a few quid off their shopping.
Morrisons have not raised prices
morrisons have a generous 10% discount for NHS Staff (no other supermarket does, shame on them!)
Morrisons started the generous 10% discount and have EXTENDED it by another THREE MONTHS!
morrisons have lowest grocery basket prices in latest comparison
morrisons have a much lower fuel price 104.9p/l whereas Asda is 108.9p

Morrisons really have won the minds and hearts of all the staff at my hospital (my workplace).

well done

wow i'm sick of all these deals for nhs and other emergency services, yes the nhs staff do a wonderful job and work long hours but thats what there paid to do.There are also 1000's or other key workers who have worked through all this and what thanks have they got for it,nothing. What have the police done in all this?less people on the streets so less crimes to investigate so less work for them

The wage nhs staff are on plus all these discounts from various places, all the free stuff from perfumes, takeways, and even there weekly shopping special slots at supermarkets so they don't have to queue up outside it's beyond a joke now.The amount of money they have saved during these last 14 weeks or so is unreal, yet others have lost there jobs, been furloughed and getting 80% of there wage yet what help are they getting during all this nothing at all,its an absolute joke

sorry rant over,voted cold

how do you claim it online? any ideas?
Presumably you would need to request a code to your employment email.
Mindful it’s been a month so a repost is totally cool, but this was posted a while back here hotukdeals.com/dea…594

It clearly states in the Ts and Cs the NHS staff member must be present and the ID cant be passed to friends or family.

I’d have told you to do one, next you’ll be lending her ID out to all and sundry. If you want the discount get her to do the shopping, it’s for NHS workers not their husbands or long lost cousins....
Morrisons send you online codes, 3 per week, which you can use online.
mkwaqar17/06/2020 21:38

You get send 3 unique codes once you've registered your NHS details on the website
ok

The online discount is ridiculous. You need to join their NHS club online using your morrisons account, NHS Mail and miles card. But then weekly they send you 10% discount codes. These codes need to be used for delivery slots that week. I tried using them the other day but couldn't get a delivery slot till the week after. Emailed them to ask them to extend the discount codes as i cant get delivery slots that week, still waiting for a response
Agree with Salim's comment - the discount is pretty pointless (in our area), as the codes are only valid until 22nd June, and the next available delivery slot is 28th June!
Thanks!

As I said in my previous comment, as my post is 4 weeks old, as per the HUKD post guidelines a new deal is allowed, so dont think they will merge my deal with this one.

Soz, managed to miss your comment
I know about the 4 week rule, hadn't realised that original was that much older
Been saving a bit with my NHS card, here’s to a few more months of custom with Morrison’s
Do people find it doesn’t actually take 10% off the total amount online?

Yes, just placed my first order. Booze isn't included, apparently, so I only got about 5% discount on my shop.

I've placed an order for next week, and I'll add next week's voucher codes when they arrive.

Personally I've avoided the 23rd and 24th in case the vouchers only arrive on the 23rd as you can't edit the order on the delivery date.
4. Minimum spend excludes and coupons cannot be redeemed against: Pharmaceuticals, Tobacco, Fireworks, Postage, Alcohol, Stamps, Infant Milk/Formula, Gift Coupons, Gift Cards, Digital Christmas Savers Stamps, Lottery Online Game and Instant Tickets, ‘Top-up’ Mobile Phone Cards, E Top-up,delivery and carrier bag charges.

you can get 10% of instore on wine but not online pointless lol
Is this just NHS or does it include Social Care as well...
I take it this isn't open to other keyworkers ?
Yessssss.

Can you do that? Place the order and add the voucher codes later as long as you add them before the delivery date? I thought the voucher codes need to be used when placing the order?

I can't agree more as we all play our part to keep the country going. Deals like this are pointless if 90% of us can't get a delivery slot.
I’ve registered for the nhs club using nhs address. I don’t see why you still need to present ID in store. Should be automatic discount in store when they scan your Morrison’s more card

apparently not as we not as important in saving life and caring for our older generations, I was refused the discunt at the till with my blue light card and care worker pass
I have changed my entire weekly shop over to Morrisons - solely on the basis of this.

Morrisons are the only supermarket that offer our remarkable and brave NHS staff a 10% discount
Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys DONT - SHAME ON THEM!

Morrisons - you will have my custom for a long time post Coronavirus - Well done !
Teachers? 😔
savvyB21/06/2020 12:03

Teachers? 😔

forget it your not important too as we care worker according to Morrisons
Dont go to morrisons in a pandemic if you value your life. No 1 way system and no-one including the staff cares.

At least north east this seems to be the case. I would recommend Lidls and Tesco who actually have social distancing rules in place

Finally bit the bullet and got wifey to sign up as the discount has been added to online deliveries too.

Can anyone please help us with the couple of questions below:
1) How long does it take for the 10% off coupons to arrive after signing up for morrisons and then the Morrisions NHS club thing?
2) Are they still giving the £5 welcome voucher automatically or do we have to somehow request it? Asking as there is a mention of £5 More voucher and it says "simply request them when you're ready to redeem and we'll email it to you". Hence a bit confused.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you for real? Shaming other supermarkets for not offering you a discount.

A bunch of flowers, box of chocolates and a genuine thank you is all you should expect for doing the job you signed up for. Your ultimate reward should be knowing you’ve played your part in helping society get back on track.

There are no COVID related financial pressures on NHS staff so offering them a long term discount is bizarre and the fact they discount other key workers is unfair.

They mean well but they have gone way too far and not really thought things through. Those that need help are the ones out of work through no fault of their own and with very little hope of finding work anytime soon.

I know a lot of NHS staff who are now finding these offers and being treated like a hero a little too much. No more free pizza or coffee required, just the respect they have and will always deserve.

You Really are sad.. you shouldn't look for thanks in doing a job you signed up for... there's many more key roles out there that I consider being as important if not more so than the NHS... get over yourself ffs

Yes you can. So long as it is before the deadline for editing your order.

At the moment we don't have next week's codes, but for the most part you can't get a delivery slot for this week's codes. You don't need to wait for the new codes. You can place your order now, and add the code later.
This is not a deal at all!!! All 'Blue light' cards give 10% discount 24/7 365.
