10 Driving Lessons - £99 @ Ukankan Female Driving School

Found 14th Jan 2011
Seen this today on one of their cars driving around Dumfries. They are all over the UK, not just Dumfries.

But its a cracking price for 10 block of lessons.

It was on the back of the car where I saw it, but I dont see any mention on the website itself, so maybe quote that you saw it on the car when booking. Im sure it was a Peugeot 207/307 it was on the back of.

Hope it helps someone.

Quite a good deal & I'm a bloke. Forwarded this to a friend who really needs to sort out his driving licence by now. Who cares if the ADI are females. If you're lucky it could be a stunner but just make sure you don't get a boner while you're learning to drive. Could be a distraction.

The first lesson involves the importance of arranging fluffy pink things on the parcel shelf, and attaching dangly things to your key-ring.
Is this another of those sexist 'female only' things or can anyone learn with them?

Not that I'm even remotely interested - I wouldn't be caught dead learning to drive with a company that paints massive pink girly hearts all over their cars.
Its not the first 10 lessons, I think its a few at the start, then the rest when you get to test standard, but you also need to have a certain number of lessons between this time at regular intervals otherwise you'll lose it, they hope you are going to pay upfront, then not carry out all the terms and conditions

second lesson is all about driving at 29mph in a 40mph zone hogging the white line in the centre of the road

Is this a typo?

17 year olds only? Good deal otherwise, as wife needs some lessons. I tried teaching her, but she finds the stick too hard to handle. Once, we went for a spin, and it got quite bumpy, as she kept missing the biting point. She warmed up somewhat afterwards, then after an intense 30 mins, it came to an end and we both agreed that it was a very exciting ride! X)

Well, anyway, does anyone have any experience with this driving school?
one of the hours is spent sitting in your car fiddling around(after you've spent ages filling up and half and hour in the shop) while there's a queue building up behind you at the petrol station.
A lady's driving school for lady's only?. The lengths I will goto save a bit of money.
Do they refuse to teach or employ men?

Think I'll apply to be an instructor for them
- then sue them for millions when they refuse because I'm a male
would you really want to get driving tuition from a woman?
whats next- child care advice from Gary Glitter? how to do the Moonwalk by Chritopher Reeve?

Was hoping to book the £99 for 10 for my daughter...as 'practice'...rather than hire one of those wrecks that Arnold Clark let out of the scrapyard. seems that they won't like me just booking 6 then her going back to usual instructor, then 4 in her 'test week' ??? Anyone tried them....can you book just one or two at full price and do this deal? Any good???
