I'm not taking credit for this. Saw it on MSE and have been wanting to go to Prague for quite some time. Just booked £10 each each way to Prague Friday to Monday! Came in handy as I have no RyanAir flight deals lined up for myself for March and they seem a bit more scare recently.

I used my Visa Electron card which thankfully had credit left over from the days RyanAir used to use Visa Electron for no surcharge. Other cards have a surcharge. Check in 0 baggage (10Kg hand luggage allowed), use online checkin, remove the insurance and don't take any extras (such as choosing your seats) for the £10 price.

I had problems booking using Firefox so had to resort to Internet Explorer.

Hope this helps someone.

EDIT : Don't forget £4 per booking Quidco. Almost worth booking 2 people on different bookings unless you want to pay for seats together.

Wow. Wish I lived near Manchester. There never seem to be very good deals from Newcastle. I checked out Manchester to Jersey return in February and it came up £0.00, just taxes - worked out at £20.00 per person.

Great for no bags online check in and a Visa Electron otherwise costs wander up a tad

One downside compared to RyanAir is that the request you be at the airport 3 hours before departure for security purposes. If anyone has any experience flying with BMI Baby and has any tips they would be more than welcome. I don't fancy getting there 3 hours before. With RyanAir I usually arrive 1 hour before.

Oh this is pretty good for me, thank you so much OP, have been looking to get away for a couple of days but have been so skint, Amsterdam for a day of chilling out, now to look for a "value for money" hotel ;-)

wow amsterdam for £20 return not including quidco!

Damn! Forgot Quidco in my haste. Added to OP. Thanks.

I have flown BMIBaby many times with no trouble. Getting to the airport 3 hours in advance is plain silly especially if you have hand luggage only and use online check in. Of course you need to make sure you allow time to pass through security but no more than if you were flying with anyone else.
One important point: BMIBaby do NOT treat Entropay as Visa Electron, they charge the full card fee. You need a real, physical Visa Electron card to avoid the card fees.

Looks good thanks OP

if u just have hand luggage can you go straight to the security check in rather than the bag check in queue then security.

Brilliant :-D - shame no deals from Brum or east mids :x

what's with the debit and credit card fees per person per flight
we all know these cost pennies for them to process.
why not just be honest and just add in this to the price of the flights instead of stooping to the low level of Ryanair's dodgy policies. I thought BMI were better than that. £13.75 is a good deal for a flight so they should just be upfront and say that.

Excellent find! just booked a weekend away to amsterdam for the 2 of us for £51 (including the over-the-top debit card costs). Thanks OP. heat and rep coming your way!

Goddamnit... me and my friends all booked flights to Amsterdam with KLM yesterday for Feb 19th for £100 each...

Looking into booking Amsterdam anyone found any cheap hotels?

I am trying to get cheap hotels aswell but getting nothing, if anyone finds a good cheap website let me know, mates have said do no go to HEM Hotel

Great timing... got tickets i needed for £20 return  Thx Op!

The flights are still there when I look at them. Less of them than last night but that's not surprising. Where are you looking to go to and when? (and presumably from Manchester).

holy god, that's cheap. i've been thinking about taking a weekend trip somewhere and i might just have to do it at that price!! hmm i'm not sure where to go.

yes the flights are there but when checking out for payment BANG charges from£41.how did the others pat £12 or what ever??thanks

I put March 20th returning monday 22nd.
2 x Adults @£20 each=£40
then go to check out charges start at £41.00

Sorry my destination is Jersey.just clicked ..part of the uk !!prob why charges so expensive.rip off England again and getting just like rip off Ireland lol!!

I am not sure what on earth you are doing.

Putting in 2 adults from Manchester to Jersey flying out 20th March and back 22nd March, online check-in 0 bags, no travel insurance and no preassigned seats I get the following :

Visa Electron £40.00

debit card £51.00

credit card £55.00

I don't consider that rip-off Britain. I am not sure where you get £41 from for card charges.

well my seats are £40 and the cheapest card fee is£41.thats a total of £81 for 2 seats.
the credit card fee is supposed to be £7 50 return each which =£15.00 for 2 passengers
therefore i would be paying more than advertised .
i hope you see where im coming from now!!!

I should be totally charged £55.00 and not £95.00 as the airline says it is!!

just got a call from bmi to say my server isnt displaying properley and they will deal with it on the phone at said price..thanks for getting back to me on this one.

are these airports , central or miles from anywhere , does anyone know ??

As far as I know there is only one airport at :

Amsterdam
Belfast Intl
Cork
Geneva
Ireland West Knock
Jersey
Palma
Prague

so you will be using the main airport with BMI.

Not sure about Toulouse as that's in France and I don't bother with France. Can't see Toulouse having more than one airport either.

Best thing to do is see where you fancy going and google "xxxxxx airport" and see the transfer times to the centre you want to go to.

I'd hazard a guess that you have been influenced by misinformation about RyanAir which reckons all their airports are miles from anywhere - which is far from being the case in general. There's only a few that are not main airports.

Will have to take a look at this at home later, sounds a great deal.

Ive searched various esp Prague for Feb & March and cant see any good matching return flights for that offer price

last night no problem (and the weekend after was available too) but the outbound was no longer available this morning.

Also Travelzoo sent out an email promoting the offer this morning which would increase the demand.

Have to be quick with these offers.

If you add a bag, which for a girl is a near-essential, it adds on £35! What a joke.

Last time I looked my girlfriend was a girl. She can manage very well for 3 or 4 days with 10 Kg of hand luggage.... and she does insist on taking quite a bit of shampoo and makeup.

Haha, are you sure?

I looked up on it after my post - from what I can see you can take up to 1l of liquids in up-to 100ml per bottle/tube/whatever. Can be done.

Boo... no weekend return flights to Prague. Looks like I'm too late =(

The 10KG wasn't all shampoo and makeup! Most of it was clothes. 10KG is your allowable hand luggage. 1 litre is you max liquid allowance though it is hard to fit 1 litres worth of liquids in containers 100ml or less in the size of bag they allow (approx 20cm x 20 cm).

Good shout out on this one - thanks.
I booked a two day trip to Amsterdam in March for the wife and myself - had to pay for the bag(£35 is ridiculous) as stated above you are only allowed small liquid containers - I think it might even be only 50ml containers - so this makes it pretty much impossible to go with a woman without paying for the bag.
Also got stung for not having the right card!
Still - two returns to Amsterdam for £85 all in - I am happy - and I still have to drive down from Glasgow!

Original Poster

No - you can have containers up to 100ml. And there's nothing to stop you sharing the liquids between the 2 of you. Ooo-err.

For those asking about Amsterdam hotels, try trav2amsterdam.com

I usually use them. However if you find a place that seems suitable, it's always worth contacting the hotel or hostel directly to see if they will do the stay any cheaper as trav2 add a slight premium. And for those travelling to Amsterdam for the first time, remember most hotels etc add a 5% charge onto booking prices as a 'tourist tax', or that's how they describe it anyway. I'd call into question whether it's an official tax however.....

Booked Prague, getting in very late on Sunday, returning late on the Friday. After booking decent accomodation, airport parking and flight, less than £200. Bingo.
