Hi all, just rang up EE to get a PAC code, they obviously asked what other deal I'd seen, briefly said something generic about plusnet, voxi and BT; saying they offer better prices and on monthly rolling contracts instead of 12 months.. then she offered me £10 for 10gb on a 12 month contract, seems like an alright deal to me.. still haven't taken it yet though, would prefer not to be tied in to EE.

Hope this helps someone!

Rubbish, got 100gb for £20 with unlimited minutes/text

Well yeah, but £20 isn't £10, and 90% of people don't need 100gb so why pay double for something you're not going to use?

Now it will be even worse in 5G areas as they will borrow Internet bandwidth and masts for 5G from 4G . They did same when launched 4G. Cannabalised all 3G masts to make 4G work. Unlike Three, O2 or Vodafone, EE (owned by BT now) are cheats. They will not upgrade infrastructure or backhaul bandwidth. Lots of data in your account but no data when you need it.

It's impossible to "borrow bandwidth" from 4g to 5g.

Fab deal! Thanks
I got the same deal as well. Took the offer a few weeks ago when my 12 months contract expired. My new ones is not tie to any 12/24 months contract, it is an ongoing tariff but subject to the yearly RPI increase.

Are you sure you're not on a 12 month plan? I only ask because this was what I requested; they told me they could offer me a monthly rolling one but they didn't offer 10gb, only 20gb at £27p/m. I might give them another go if I can get it down to monthly instead!

Yep, same deal here, got it two weeks ago. Breakdown of bill through the EE app is... 3 gb for £19, minus £9 loyalty, + 1 gb of data free, + 5 gb data free, + 250mb free data, + 750 mb free data. Unlimited texts, unlimited calls.
£10 per month, 12 month contract.
Max or essentials, ain't got a clue.
Have been a customer 6 years +.
I called the other day asking for a PAC code to try get a Three deal instead (8GB for £10 a month). Yet I was told their retention deals couldn't compete with it, weird.

I tried to ask if it was max or essentials, she just blanked me, asked twice too, she had no idea what I was even asking

That's a shame, strange since multiple people even in this comment section have been offered it.

As far as I remembered, they told me it's monthly rolling contract. I can see from the EE app that I can upgrade now.

If they don't offer you anything it can be worth saying you'll think about it and calling back up in a couple days, usually depends who you get through to.. sometimes they just can't beat what you've found though
Was offered this on live chat today, I declined as I’m currently on a max plan sim only 13GB £15 had it years now
If this was a max deal I would go for it shot myself in the foot going for the 100gb deal which isn't. Going to America for two weeks going to cost a fortune

Is your phone unlocked? Would be worth getting an american sim perhaps? Either that or I believe both three and vodafone have free roaming in the states? Could be worth getting a monthly rolling sim from them?

Nope. Other people too. Just had to say ‘Hotukdeals’ and the lady said yep we can offer you the above deal. I said loverly!
Got that deal same as OP was offered and took it - totally chuffed. My OH also wanted that and they even offered 10% off then but when she called a couple of weeks later at end of contract they wouldn't give her anything near my deal. She got cheesed off and went for the Three 8GB deal for £10 instead and got the £45 Topcashback.
When I called to cancel and get a PAC code there was no question of why I'm leaving and was immediately offered a PAC code.

I am with VOXI now, much better coverage than EE in my own experience and service
Great deal thank you!

Check this out ee.co.uk/hel…ass

I am going to Mexico next month and will use this, £10 a month but can be turned off after I return, not sure if pro rata or need to pay the full £10 but allows 15gb of your monthly allowance to be used in USA and few other countries.

Thanks yes I had looked at a few different options customer service didn't mention the above option when I rang up. Will likely be changing from EE back to O2 once this is up EE is cheaper but I found O2 a better service overall
I'm on chat and they say £18 for 10GB is the best they can do.. And then this:

Best I can offer you £11.11 deal that comes with 250Mb of data with unlimited texts and minutes. However, considering your loyalty with EE I can add free 10Gb of data for you so you get 10.25Gb each month in just £11.11, isn't that amazing ?
Got this deal yesterday. Requested pac code and told them leaving to voda for 8gb £10 , and offered me this deal. More than happy to accept.
Just called in asking for my PAC code and was put through to the retention team and they offered me the same deal. The lady said that the upgrade team wouldn't offer me this deal. My contract expired last month so this was perfect timing.
Also if they ask what deal were you offered, bring up the Vodafone offer 8gb for £10
Thanks OP

what's the difference between MAX and Essentials plan? The max speed I've got was 110mbps down and 42mbps up
I assume I've got the essential plan as I only joined EE last year

Just spoke to EE and they said they don't offer a 10GB per month plan. Might try again tomorrow
10GB for £10 on Virgin Media, may be not the best network in town but never had any issue the same time.

You shouldn’t use retentions. It’s better if you do a plan change via live chat. I managed to get 600 minutes, unlimited text and unlimited data/hotspot for £5 a month rolling contract. Other users on here managed to get similar deals for less than £10.
Edited by: "toyota1" 31st May
Just phoned up and changed to this. Man on the phone was very helpful and sorted the deal straight away with no issues. Also did the same for my partner.

I have been happy with EE for the past year that I’ve been with them so happy to stay for another year.

Thanks OP
EE retentions are strange at times. Didn't offer me anything other than 100gb for £20, which didn't suit me, as I wanted to reduce cost.

Went for the Vodafone deal via mobiles.co.UK and got 100gb for £15.

EE essential plan is much worse than vodafone Red Extra plan, from roaming perspective.
