£10 free airtime when you get a new Orange PAYG SIM or Phone and transfer your current number

Orange have a deal where if you call up your current network provider and request a PAC code (a code which lets you transfer your mobile phone number), then ring 0870 870 8888 with this code then they'll give you £10 free airtime.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are on a contract and request a PAC code then it can often be seen as a cancellation and cancel your current contract.

ALTERNATIVE NUMBERS: The above telephone number is charged at national rate from BT landlines, and probably a lot more on a mobile phone. SayNoTo0870.com lists 07973 100150 and 0800 0797777 as alternatives to this number.

Good stuff ducky! I assume the credit doesn't expire?

Doesn't really compare to O2 PAYG. When the wife moved over to them she got £30 worth of free credit when she ported.

Maybe that deal doesn't exist anymore, but it was only a couple of months ago.

Just looked -] it's still on.

Apart from the fact the o2 deal ended in Nov last year, you have to top up £10 pm each month for 6 months to get the free £5 per month for 6 months, which isn't great.

The orange deal looks better - just need to know how long the free £10 lasts.

I can assure you it didn't.

I know it says such in their T&Cs, but the wife only moved over in Feb, and is getting the extra credit. She already spent £10pm on top-ups anyway.

It will depend on your circumstances what deal suits more - the O2 one is best for her.

How long do you have to stay with Orange though before you can request another PAC code to move to another network if they turn out to be not so good for reception?

that is right!

with orange you are getting free credit for nothing, with O2 you had to top up so much every month for 6 months to get anything

you need to top up so much a month for this not as good a deal.

Three Mobile also give a 10 quid credit when you port your number to them - one credit per SIM and it doesn't expire.

john

Something to do with freebie PAYG sims after killing the credit on them, to use for Orange Wednesdays when you would not really be wanting to have anything to do with Orange anyway.
