Don’t trust Revolut they will block your account, my business account has been blocked for over 7 weeks and i get a robot replying back.
Revolut will try to use your money to invest. I am no closer in getting my 6 figure sum back. While my account has been blocked Revolut have been playing the fx market with my money.

I don't understand these type of accounts. Why not just use your bank card?

Because they have little perks like paying into them using credit cards which may reward you with cashback, air miles or points of some sort.

Something to think about...

I use Starling as my main bank. Revolut is better if you want to convert currency in advance. Though Revolut customer service is poor, the virtual cards are a bonus in case you want to pay on a site you don't trust with your real card details.

Bank charges, on average, 2.5% for International transactions.
Revolut does not charge an interest fee when using your card. Plus gives you the best rate when using your card.

I can't stand Revolut either. I had issue with free card offer. After passing me on to so many different departments they decided to block account. Now they won't let me close it either. Revolut are horrible but I'd claim this offer for the free £10 and close.

It has a full EU banking license so deposits are covered for up to €100,000 by EDIS.
Also couldnt take cash out with foreign currency, initially shown on my account that it was taken out, then contacted them via the app and they managed to refund it but every atm I went to it wouldn't allow me to take money out, pointless to a certain degree, saying that it does allow card payment in the shops in that country.

Does anyone know about the disposable virtual cards? Do you have to be a premium member?

I've got an account but set up a "standard" virtual card to pay a subscription ( @jamie15 - The GPM sub I'm looking to ditch in favour of India) and can't see a way to change it.

You can delete the old virtual card and claim a new one, up to 8 a month.

That's great - thanks for the heads up!
Works well for travel fee free cash withdrawals and purchases with rates that were better than my HSBC account. Don't use it for day to day and balance is normally left close to zero. I just add money from my HSBC current account instantly when I need to whilst at the ATM or shops abroad then use the revolut card straightaway.
Can get £15 instead of £10 for joining -from referal from existing members not sure if it's for all members though.

What drove you to put £'s 6 figures into an outfit not covered by FSCS protection ?

You're right but the 5 figure first 85 k is I think covered

At the time that was my only business account, so after many sales the balance built up.
Now have several business accounts. As can not afford to have a issue like this and i am using banks that are brick and mortar. Revolut hide behind there laptops and start to be keyboard warriors.

That is the best idea. If I had a business with 6 figures, I'd be using a mixture of fintech online only banks and bricks and mortar. Starling and a high street company probably.
