10 Free Trades on Play.com

Found 30th Dec 2009Made hot 30th Dec 2009
Difficult to know which category to put this, so here will do for now until a mod decides for the better.

Basically your next 10 sales on playtrade will be commision free.

Pretty good as I just sold 3 things for £20 each and got a rebate of almost £10. The playtrade fees are high but you get better prices for your items and they cost nothing to list.

As confirmed by Jayok, the items you list have to be sold before the end of the promotion (31st Jan 2009) in order to be eligible.

this sounds quite good. ebay should do the same.

iv got a pair of new mens boots i would like to sell on there. they dont allow boots on play.com do they?

Any Quidco on Sale.

Items have to be sold by Play so that you can list them,if Play dont have it then you cant sell it on there im afraid

They did the same thing this time last year, was good to get a few odd items sold without worrying over the cost of fees.

will probbly do the same this time around.

Good spot. Thanks. Heat added

Sounds good! Thnk I'll give it a go for a few things I have doubled up on.

Cheers

Is this for 1st time playtrade sellers only?

Could you not list something for £100,000 then buy it yourself, and claim the quidco?

Quidco does not track for buying playtrade items

Last time it wasn't

No terms with it that I can see

Anyone know how to spend your play trade fund. I currently have 50 quid I've built up but when I buy something and go to check out I can't see an option to use my funds. I have phoned play and they said about it will come up as an option on the right side of the screen during check out but I can't see it!

Playfunds can be used In the 'Pay & Confirm' part of checkout. It is on the right under the voucher section and above the secure shopping logo

No although in these troubled times it might be useful to either spend it or transfer to your bank account. I have £143 sitting on there

awesome.

this promotion applies to all accounts old and new. you get your play listing refund within 14 days after posted.
saves you about 10% of your money atleast

they dont let you sell blu rays which is strange

You actually get the refund withing the hour.

I could sell blu rays there if I had any, so anyone should be able to.

You can sell blurays, the option is not available from that page but you can go to the item and click "Sell Yours Here" to list it.

I have just had my playfees returned from 2 days ago before this was posted which is nice.

Just checking as I've never sold on Play before, if I sell an item at: £104.99
PLAYFUNDS PROCEEDS £93.99
Is this right....? So with the free trades will I get the full £104.99 then? Thanks :-)

Play charge 10% commision and 50p per completed sale. With no fees you will recieve the full amount as listed.

Yes your calculations are correct, 10% of 104.99 is 10.49 + 0.50 is 10.99 so 94.

There is also a 5% charge if you transfer your money to your bank account.

Don't forget you have to post the item and that comes out of that money

Thanks for that, I will pretty much spend a.s.a.p, I'm looking to clear out a few games & replace them with new ones. It will make a nice change from ebay as it's free!

Bank transfer fee: 5%

also you need to register your bank account with playtrade if you haven't done it. below FAQ from play.com

Can I spend the cash in my PlayFunds account immediately?

As a security feature, before you can spend or withdraw the money in your PlayFunds account you must register your bank details in the Account Preferences section of your PlayTrade account. 21 days after you register your bank details you may spend or withdraw money from your PlayFunds account.

As said above they say 60 days but I have some stuff that's been up since september so I would say forever. Never had an item unlisted yet.

Time to off load some games!

But factoring in ebay fees, and all the melarky that they charge......... isnt it not better to go with them, if at the end of the day you sell £500 on play and then have to pay £25 in withdrawal fees from your playfund??

Play is so much better than ebay for the stuff play sells. It takes no time to list the items and no faffing about with paypal. It does not cost to list which is a massive bonus.

If you list something and then withdraw the listing at a later date do you have to pay anything?
