Ok no problem

Great, there'll be a guy going to my local who'll fill his car up and leave all the bottles in a trolley

Fill it up as an alternative to diesel or just fill the whole car up with bottles of oil? Actually it could be both.

It would have to be old, most if not all diesel cars won't run on the stuff without modification or modification to the oil. I don't know of any conversations for modern diesels, you still need a relatively older car it seems.

If you're going to have a go get hold of a 90's Citroen diesel or better still one of the bullet proof 90's diesel Mercedes and convert them to veg oil motoring.

Ah I see, sounds like a tightwad with no concern for anyone else. Probably the reason he's using veg oil. He will have a converted vehicle if he's pouring it directly in to the tank.

This is interesting. Read the description of the vehicle, I'm going to check out if it's BS or not >

Definate tightwad, he fills up a jiggered old X reg Xantia!! bet it cost a bit to get converted tho!

Not necessarily need conversion, a guy I know runs his old (pre-common rail) Toyota 4x4 on Rapeseed oil poured directly into the tank with diesel. He's had no conversion, but says he puts less in in winter to avoid the risk of the fuel pipes becomming clogged (4x4's have thicker fuel hoses than cars)

Yes it depends on the car, most can't run on 100%, they can run on a lesser % mixed with diesel.

Surprised he does it in public, as it's illegal (unless he keeps a log and pays the fuel duty owed separately, which I doubt).

Ran a company car Rover 25 (X reg) back in 2001 when they bought us (controversially) out of our fuel cards, used to go to Lidl, when their 1L veg oil was 37p per litre (diesel was 94p/L) and used to stack 4 x boxes (15 x 1L bottles) in the trolley and then refuel car in car park, was a bit of a pain in the a$$ but loads cheaper, used to run neat in the Spring/Summer & Autumn but approx. 50% in winter as was a b1tch to start unless you heated plugs 4 0or 5 times ..... Engine eventually died so they replaced engine ....

I run my 190d Merc on Veggie oil, no need to convert, straight in the tank. Done over 100k on veg. But why waste money on clean oil when you can get used oill from a chippy for much much less.

Not illegal at all! You can legally use up to 2,500L per annum without paying duty!

How's it ironic?

How's it "Ramadhan" ?

Yeah it would on 70% to 95% mix with diesel no conversion. The MPG of that vehicle is very low though at 23MPG, even so veg oil is cheaper. I'd have to do some Maths to work out whether an LPG converted vehicle was the better option.

Sweet.....what about the 500k miles claim.....fantasy or what ?
Looking at the price of that one, it might pay off.....even with the horrendous MPG figures !

Fasting is only during the day (dawn to dusk).
Did you honestly think they didn't eat or drink for the full 29/30 days?

I thought it was cheap when I bought 10l for £9 the other week. This is a great price.
The gram flour looks cheap (for a supermarket) too.

Unless you need a 4x4 a 1.9D Merc from mid 90s would do the trick. They're also bomb proof, the tax on old cars with big engines can be eye watering as well, so I'd stick to an old mid 90s Merc. Should be able to pick up an S Reg for £600 - £800 with about 150K miles on the clock.

Didn't know people who left used vegetable oil bottles lying around were such criminals. Fits the standard criminal profile of crooked nose, sloped forehead and ugly scars... Oh and uses vegetable oil to power his car. (Do not approach if you see this man. He may viciously lash out, and/or pull his **** out and **** on you. Back away and call 999.)

Irrespective the severity of what he does, it still is an offence to dump your waste on someone else's property.

I'm sure you'd be just as understanding if someone fly-tipped the contents of their home renovation onto your garden...

These deals are only available in the Heathrow etc area.

Never nationwide. Just where Asian people are the indigenous populous.

Note to mods and other users -not a racialist comment. Fact is that around areas like Heathrow etc, the majority of people are Asian or Black.

Fact.

Mind my own business??? LOL! it is my business when he does it on the car park that i maintain!!!

my vw t4 1.9d runs much better on 50% sunflower oil more torque and mpg

There's often a good discussion about driving on veg oil instead of diesel when these get posted. My family we have a Ford Transit Minibus, P reg and after reading up we poured in 20 litres of oil and filled tank with diesel so a 20% mix. We thought we would regret it but ran fine. Upped the mix, 50%, 75% then 100%. Works fine! We buy from catering supplies and get 20 litres for about £15.50. I think the reason cooking oil has gone up so much is because so many people are doing this. Yes there is a barbecue smell when we drive. It's not unpleasant and we can't smell it inside. If the temp outside dropped to freezing we go to 50% mix. Rapeseed is best we find but veg oil ok. The thing is, they say if the mix is too high for your older engine it won't go bang. It will just run lumpy so add more diesel. The only thing we do is change oil, oil and fuel filter 6 monthly.

Yeah, auto diesel 3.0 V6 with 224bhp.

I can see about 45 on a run but under 30mpg around town.

I'm probably going to sell it
