Like the look of this. Well I don't really like the look of it because it's ugly as f**k, but the deal seems decent.

8GB of RAM is a little stingy and I'd want to know what kind of screen it has, but otherwise pretty good.

Edit: Is the auto-censor on swearing not a thing any more?

Notebookcheck has it down as an IPS, so should be half decent.
Can the RAM be upgraded after? (I'm assuming it will void the warranty)
you can upgrade , but dont know about warranty
How is this not A LOT hotter? I feel like I'm missing something obvious? Also, does anyone have any exeperience with Save on Laptops, never heard of this site before?

No experience personally but they have good store reviews (not the be all and end all, granted) and their prices are consistently good. Always worth looking at for a decent bargain too.

Agree about the hotness, this is a cracking laptop for the price.
Bloody good price for the spec.
I suspect people are being put off by the previous generation gpu and cpu, which isn't fair given the low price.

My thoughts exactly, Destard. The 6300 & 970 is a good pairing imho. Should be good for a mixture of High & Max settings on pre-2015/2016 games, and Max/High & Med on newer titles. For £764 it's a steal.
If only it didn't look so hideous!

I don't mind it, tbh. It's kinda brutal looking
Ugly, but great price for the spec. I have a 970M in my laptop and have often been surprised how well games run at 1080p compared to my GTX 1070-equipped desktop running at 1440p. Also, my GTX 970M overclocks by +350MHz (capped at that) and surprisingly runs at the same temp under load as when it is not overclocked (69C); getting close to GTX to 980M performance for no penalty other than perhaps slightly more power draw.

Out of interest, what laptop do you have?
