Because in the past week I've moved from the UK, to the USA, to Germany and now to Oz. For me it's financially unstable for 10% saving......

It amazes me that people still don't understand this after many, many threads explaining it.

There is no import tax. You're buying a UK item from a UK seller using an Australian website.

You don't have to actually have the goods imported into Australia mate...you could just get them delivered to your UK address, which would probably be why this is hot?

I'm looking for a portable hoover that picks up dust and grains of rice. I bought one from Lidl for £100 and it was rubbish, literally cannot pick up a single thing, you've got to force it in and then it just about pulls it.

I'm looking at a few Dyson ones but don't want to go over budget (£200). Help would be appreciated.
Worked loverly ta

Can someone explain this bit:

"Then on left hand menu go to addresses and change Registration address to AUSTRALIA"

Can you change just the Country to Australia, or do you have to pick an actual address with street name and number etc?
Just the registration - don’t touch your delivery address
Does this work for Best Offer deals? If yes, where u enter the code once offer is accepted?

The code goes on the checkout page. Use a desktop and not auto completion via the eBay app.

On the page it'll ask how you want to pay, PayPal, banks etc. At the bottom it has add promotion code / apply.

It'll change the cost of your total. The email will say you've saved X amount.

I can't confirm if it works with best offers or not. But I assume it will.

Thanks. Will give it a try as need to buy something big. Any other handy eBay or PayPal codes going out there?
Hi,

I recently did the 'switch' to USA during the 15% off promotion and saved £65. What I would like to know is...does the 'seller' of the item loose that £65 or does ebay personally make up the difference. I ask because my item has not yet shipped and the seller advertised '24hr special delivery'

Hope that made sense.

I used a previous US 20% off code with a best offer, and it worked fine then. That was only a few weeks ago.

Your delivery/postal address remains the same. You only changed your registered address NOT your delivery/postal address.
Who pays for the discount the seller or ebay?

Thanks.

I had a feeling it would work as it's a PayPal discount (PayPal cover the difference from the looks off things).
wingatewood13 m ago

PayPal/eBay cover the difference. Would be unfair if they put the bill on us without us agreeing to it.
wingatewood14 m ago

eBay of course.
When you list something you are entering a binding contract with eBay to sell an item, paying an agreed fee. They can't simply renege on this as it suites them.

I thought that would be the case, it would obviously make no sense otherwise. Thank you all for the confirmation.
OK, Australia tour this weekday. Heat added for being travel Agent working harder.

It won't be for long. The 'wagghhhh it's fraud - vote cold' brigade are in much fewer numbers to the 'wahhhayyy save money f*** ebay tax dodgers take my money already - vote hot' brigade.

Just so much wrong with the above I honestly have no idea where to start.
I'm amazed ebay haven't changed their rules to stop people switching countries for the purpose of using voucher codes. Good luck to everyone who makes use of them anyway.

Bosch Athlet. Go for a 24v model not the 18v. Awesome bit of kit. Should be able to find a refurb model for around the 100 pound mark.

If ebay cared they would have stopped it happening already. It would a very simple fix. A requirement that the registered address has been in the qualifying country for 30 consecutive days for example would do the trick.

End of the day it generates orders, sales, fees, profit so they win either way.

There must be customers milking this who've cost them hundreds of pounds by this point. I expect them to get around to addressing it eventually.

Sometimes eBay ends up being cheaper. Also eBay tends to have the more unique items I require.
First code I used was on 2 pairs of sample trainers of a model that were discontinued 3 years ago.
Other colors in the same range are £45-60 a pair. While I paid £38 for 2 pairs.
