As an NHS worker, I'd agree that some of these deals for NHS workers are a big cringeworthy, as is the weekly clap. Particularly when you read the Panorama investigation about where the contingency planning PPE has gone (21 million FFP3 masks unaccounted for), and that the government acted against its own advisers in routine pandemic planning as recently as last June.

Frankly, most NHS workers would prefer proper PPE and pay rises (as opposed to pay caps or 1% rises) than 10% off this or that and a weekly clap. And if anyone should be getting anything, it's the carers (none of whom are actually employed by the NHS) on £9/hour for doing work most people couldn't believe who should be getting freebies/perks.
Wonder if you get an extra discount if you buy a nurse shark...
These NHS deals get more bizarre by the day.

10% seems a decent saving on standard retail price to me.
Quite an expensive shop but as there are not many high st aquatics stores then this deserves some heat for the gesture.

10% wow they are really pushing the boat out!
Poor discount, just after the free publicity by looks of it.
Wow. Is Maidenhead still going? Though it closed years ago.
Where abouts are you in maidenhead?

I just hope they also allow NHs workers exclusive access for the first hour of business every day as I couldn't stand having to queue for hours.

Your just wondering what a nurses hickey is like .......I know ive been married to one for 30years
But forgotten now myself....
“I’ve just worked myself to the bone, 12 hour shift serving the nation, putting my own health at risk.........I know, think I will go and get some goldfish and a tank 🤪” - definitely agree with Cameron, some of the “offers” are probably not what most NHS workers are looking for after the efforts they are putting in.
Seems fishy to me? 😁

I'm really puzzled about that bit. Does anyone know anything about that? I've not even heard conjecture, be it fraud, theft or whomping great big rats in the super duper state of the art warehouse.

I suspect they thought "what's the point having 21 million masks sat around doing nothing" and sold them to another country. Probably Germany.

That would help balance the books, having bought those water cannons from them.
