It tracks initially, but is rejected later. It has happened so many times with me.

The code 'PAYDAY10' doesn't work with all hotels.

My last two bookings didn't track - what a surprise! That's £75 cash back lost

In my last hotel bookings I found now that Expedia and Hotel.com exhibited cartel behaviour, meaning their price same as or more than the hotels' standard price. So I rung up these hotels and did my own negotiation for at least 10% off.

Well, Expedia owns Hotels.com so it's not really a surprise that they have the same price.

Also, I find it better to use a price comparison site such as Trivago or even Tripadvisor to get the best price. The price difference can be quite a bit!

I forgot to add "etc", as Opodo, Lastminute,...all the top names do the same behaviour... they turn all discounts the hotel give them as income and more and none is passed to the customer anymore , if my finding on several quotes is to go buy, plus a number of international flights that I got quotes for too with the big names, all more expensive than the airlines direct.

That may be true in some cases. It's best to look at each booking individually and do a full search before making the booking.

the better deals are from non Anglo American web sites, of course not 100%, helps to use another language and even tunneling access using VPN, even myferrylink.fr, Aldi Reisen, amazon.fr, amazon.de do better deals than British managed companies.
