This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

I've been looking at the Raleigh Motus range for a while now (for my mum) and I've just stumped across the new range of Raleigh Electric bikes at Halfords - all of which are currently 10% off. Looking at the specs, these are almost like for like with the Raleigh Motus range.

I'm looking at the Raleigh Felix step thru (now at £1619) vs Raleigh Motus lowstep (priced at £1800 at Evans). Both have a 300Wh battery, Bosch motor and 7 speed gears.

Seemed like a good deal, so thought I would share!

Potential to use British Cycling disocunt too?

I don't like the e-bike trend, so many stick leg scallies riding them in Liverpool.
Trouble with these, and almost all, electric bikes...............is the weight. These things weigh at least 50% more than a regular bike. This one in particular is almost 25Kgs.......that's seriously hefty........Twice the weight of my mountain bike, and 3 times the weight of my road bike. For anyone who is slightly older, or infirm, the last thing you want is a heavy bke (as ultimately it's not powered when you're walking it / locking, or run out of juice etc.). Better to spend the money on a quality lighter 'manual' bike in my opinion.

Just how do they justify these prices, afterall it's a £100 bike with a small battery and motor for the other £1400 !

They won't have stick legs when the batteries no longer hold a charge.

Trouble with all these electric bikes is there is no standard for the batteries, good luck getting a battery for any one of these in 3 years.

If it's anything like my e bike then it isn't a problem walking with it as it will have walk assist, hold down a button and it will move itself along at walking pace, handy if you want to walk it up a steep hill or even steps.

Agreed, but then for the same money as this you could get a superbly engineered 10Kg folding bike which wouldn't need any assistance.

You may add 20kg to the weight by going electric but your power output gets doubled which easily counteracts the weight in my opinion. I moved from a 700c rigid hybrid to a 27.5" full suspension ebike and massively prefer the ebike. It accelerates faster from the lights, is more comfy, and lets me arrive at work without being completely drained or sweaty.

For those who say they don't offer exercise, they do, I'm putting in 200W of leg power on my ebike and burning 900 kcal a day on the commute. I definitely got more exercise on the manual bike but it was too much to do every day. I arrived at home dead tired so didn't do it often and got less exercise overall.

There are standards for batteries if you go with any name brand provider, E. G. Bosch. They've committed to long term availability of parts.

Off brand it's even easier, so long as your battery uses an xc60 connector and outputs the right voltage it will work with any ebike. It's the middle ground where you have to be careful, companies who modify the batteries enough to be incompatible with everything but their own kit, but don't have the staying power to be around in a few years.

Maybe people don't want a moped? Maybe they like to ride a bicycle but aren't so fit and healthy so they need a little help.
