Kudos for the balls to buy this whopping TV, and even more to post it as your first deal on HUKD!
Heat for contribution, but not a deal for the masses I suspect given its cost!

Came here to post the same. gj!

By some margin the cheapest out there for this TV (bear in mind it is edge lit so the various 'issues' that will transpire on this set should be considered before laying out the cash) heat added for a great price though! Also for reference C&M are a superb retailer with exceptional customer service so no worries about being well looked after either.

can you elaborate more on these issues please? as if there are problems id rather know now?

This is a good price for this tv, just prepare for the stupid comments of "bought 10 to sell on ebay" and "bought 1 for my bathroom".

Uniformity, edge lit struggles even at 55-65" size when you get to 75" it becomes even more difficult to get balanced light across the screen, banding and DSE (Dirty Screen Effect) can also be an issue for the same reasons Also if you need to view off centre ie not straight on these can struggle

So in plain english terms is this tv advised to stay clear from?

No not at all, at this size most TVs have some sort of 'issue' having owned the 75XD Sony and gone through 3 before giving up on them (and these are FALD not edge lit) nothing will be perfect I am afraid, what I would say is make sure you have seen the TV in the flesh, played content that you will be watching ie not just the beautiful shiny HDR clips they have playing when you go in, insist on watching Sky or 'normal' channels as even Sky HD can show up defeciencies in the PQ on these big sets (and forget watching anything in SD as it is awful )

Just make sure you are happy with whatever issues the TV throws up when you watch your main viewing on it and you will be fine

Edited by: "nictry" 13th Dec 2016

hardly its a top rated tv...but just be aware it could have above mentioned issues as do many led tvs majority of which arent noticeable most of the time.

That's the bedroom sorted, thanks

I've had my window taken out n replaced it with one of these babies

In plain English the only people that notice these issues are those who look for these types of problems, and those people will spend hours looking for issues to complain about, and will also probably spend a week setting it up to some reference standard level and complain that the colour is one shade out or something like that. The average punter who's set up consists of hanging the TV on the wall and turning it on won't see any issue.

Can't decide on this or a 32" and sitting really really close.....

If you watch contents in pitch black room, the fault mentioned might be obvious. Otherwise, you'll not experience any of the faults mentioned.

Naw, it's an awesome TV. The picture is as good as any top LCD TV out there, yes the banding, light bleed, DSE might be an issue if you watch in the dark

I had banding (right hand side) that was particularly noticable on football or any sky type movement even on HQ sources like UHD discs, also some other more specific issues with faulty HDMI ports and the last one had bad motion issues, in reality if you spent £1k you might put up with it but when I purchased it was around £4.5k so not something that I considered acceptable.

I ultimately ended up with a 75ZD9 which removed the motion issues and banding entirely, there is still light DSE in just one part of the screen on the right on certain backgrounds, only visible on football or panning across a light background so compared to the tolerable.

Wow. Would like to have a 75ZD9! I have a Samsung Ps64F8500, other than an oled I think I'll just bite the bullet with the 75XD94, I want more real estate.

Seriously I would check it in the flesh before spending this sort of money - it is a TV that is very variable in quality, I think they have discontinued the model as it has been such a nightmare and hence why the ZD came out so quickly after a supposed 'top of the line' release of the xd model.

OK, will definitely check it out. ZD9 is way out of my league

Cant afford to impulse buy but if my 70 inch sharp gave up the ghost t would be tempted. I do agree with others tho with set this size. I forked out extra 1k on my giant tv to get the full backlit array. Doubt i could afford now tho. This is a good deal imo

One for bathroom! not a chance at least three minimum, and don't forget one for dogs servant quarters too. lol

Cracking price for a cracking tv, I bought one recently, paid £3800 ish which also included a 4k DVD player, at the time there was a 10% Quidco cashback offer still waiting for cash back though. I haven't experienced any problems with it which made me regret buying it.

You should give them a call. Hopefully they will offer you the blu ray player.

I tiled my living room with 36 of these and now I'm powering my own virtual holodeck from my commodore 64!

Great first post, hope the TV works out for you, please let us all know what you think of it in the flesh. Merry Chrimbo - exciting times

How do you know luck had anything to do with it? Maybe they just work really hard and appreciate good quality AV systems. It's amazing what you can achieve if you put your mind to it.

Incredible tv
No doubt that if you have the cash this is an incredible piece of tech

Amazing

Class leading motion
21 ms input lag- video games look and feel amazing

True HDR - 1200 nits
Anything over 1000 is true HDR

Supports 24p
It's incredible that samsung decided to quietly drop 24 hz support on their (otherwise excellent) series 6 range
Essentially creating awful judder playback on all blu ray and films

Naturally the 24hz mode is accounted for here and it will create a night and day difference to people who enjoy watching films on their tv

This model is a tad tasty at over 3k
The 55 inch model is highly attractive though

Probably better panel because the smaller size has less potential issues with grays

You still need "luck" on your side in life if things are to go well for you. I've worked damn** hard for 30 years but could never afford a TV like this, so don't patronise me about "appreciating good quality AV systems" (whatever an "AV" system is anyway!!).
