10% off most of the sonos range by the looks of it but not too sure when the deal ends! Play 1 Twin Packs now showing OOS - still cheaper to get 2 single Play 1's (£287) versus twin pack elsewhere.
This is my first deal posted so I hope I've done it correctly

Wicked! Thanks!!! ( straight in my basket )
awsome
Excellent - Play 1 ordered for £144 delivered. Better than any ebay price.
Ordered Cheers !!!!
Perfect! Thought £280 from RGB yesterday was a decent price - cancelled that (RGB wouldn't price match) and ordered from here instead
Seems to have ended on the twin pack
Isn't it cheaper to connect a chromecast audio dongle to your own system than buy this?
is the starter pack only in white?

Yes and it would be cheaper to connect my old tape recorder and play music via my old C90 tapes too.

I can't see the twin pack?
the site showing only 1 speaker but the deal title is twin pack? anyone can clarified please.

Witty but not exactly a fair comparison. Chromecast Audio multi-room works great and yes you may be able to connect that to your old tape recorder, but you could also connect it to Sonos beating speakers.

S/He made a valid point. Not sure what point you're trying to make by comparing hissy C90s to a digital source.

Twin Pack is OOS but still cheaper to get 2 x Play 1's than buying twin pack elsewhere... Cassette tapes are awesomely retro and all that but don't think Adele/1D/Linkin Park/Coldplay (*delete as appropriate) release cassettes...
Twin pack is still available.Here
This deal is for a twin pack of Sonos speakers, not a Chromecast audio. That`s Ramsay Ladders point!

Agreed. His analogy was back to front too because the Chromecast audio is actually the newer technology.

Take this +1 and have a happy hol's
If you're unable to get this deal, you could try Flubit (I got £269 delivered, in case it helps anyone).
Play1 showing at £148.99 not £144 - is there a code etc to get Play1 for £144 or have they bumped the price up slightly?

Still hot

I was having a sideswipe at the usual Sonos bashers that appear with every Sonos deal suggesting cheaper things that are nothing like Sonos. I am sure Chromecast is a good cheap way of streaming but not exactly the same thing.

Looks like they've bumped the prices. Was definitely £144 when I ordered.

Thanks for clarifying that.
If people are here looking for a multi room audio setup, you can try researching a Logitech media server, raspberry pi + picoreplayer setup. A little bit of reading around and you can have multi room audio at a fraction of the cost, and hook it up to existing speakers/amps/iPod docks etc. The integrated amp and DAC boards that are available now are amazing and very small. I am sure I wrote a bit more about them on this site a while ago, if anyone is interested I will dig it out.

Never the less this seems like a good price for this sonos!

There is a link from a few years ago. Ignore the vaguely technical set up stuff near the bottom, picoreplayer automates it all now and it's easy. Most people can test the concept easily with just a computer and a phone (or a few phones/tabs).

WRT the talk about the dodgy audio out and separate amp, you can get small all in one 'push fit' cards now such as the hifiberry amp, or the pidigiamp+ (the one I think I will use next).

Please let me know if you have any questions (no matter how simple), it can be annoying trying to find out the basics sometimes.
Looks to be full price again now

I tend to find that nothing quite brings out the evangelists like Sonos and Apple discussion (and keeping to HUKD only, possibly PS4/XBOX 1/PC threads!). I have been seriously considering Sonos for the past month, mainly tempted by the deals like these that keep popping up. Having actually got to audition the system in several stores (with varying display sizes and open space too, might I add) I ended up buying a Chromecast Audio and keeping with our existing system in the lounge. Our plan was a Play:5 for the lounge and the Play:1 bundle - 1 for the kitchen and 1 for the bedroom, but on their own they are pretty underwhelming. To be fair - they are not the largest speakers in the world and for their size they do pretty well, of course sounding better as a pair. But on their own they can't provide anything like good room-filling audio if you're used to a set of speakers - and this, ultimately was why I didn't go down the Sonos route in the end. No matter what you buy, it'll never beat hi-fi and for the price you pay for a decent level of kit you can buy some seriously good hi-fi equipment.

I'm going to try some active bookshelf speakers and use another Chromecast (which now does multi-room and will only improve with firmware updates) upstairs but I'm still left pondering on other locations. I did also discover Denon's HEOS range too, which is extremely similar but sounded a little bit better to me than the Sonos stuff, which isn't surprising given Denon's history.

I think if you're someone who will appreciate the ease of setup and simplicity of use that Sonos provides, there's not a lot that can touch it at the moment (apart from maybe the HEOS, although that's still only 6 months old). It'll cost you, but if you've nothing in terms of hi-fi to begin with that's not too bitter a pill to swallow. I think they'll get some serious competition next year and it'll be interesting to see how they respond - for example, the Play:5 has a line-in that can stream whatever the source is to the rest of the Sonos network - why not provide the same on the 1 or 3?! Denon has on the HEOS - which means you're able to have an even greater choice (e.g. send music from your record deck around the home!). Healthy competition is good
Will John Lewis price match this?
Expired now anyway
Love my Sonos (2x1 and 1x3)

Shame the Android app is unreliable and clunky. Rarely can I just switch on and go, got to keep restarting etc. Any ideas in case I'm doing anything wrong?

Heat.
Whilst this has expired, go to Smart Home Sounds and user either their 'sonosxmas' code (limited to a certain number, still works at the mo for me), or 'richerplay1' you'll get £20 off the 2x Play:1 bundle only. Also, Advanced MP3 Players are doing 10% off through Christmas with code 10%XMAS15 - will save you as much as this deal, I guess.

AdvancedMP3Players code doesn't work for Sonos. But thanks for the Smart Home Sounds one: just ordered the Play1 twin pack. Cheers.

That's your LAN causing issue, not the Sonos.

If you have auto-channel switching enabled on your router, turn it off, restart everything and see if that improves things.

Smart channel switching can see the Sonos MESH as interference and continually changes it causing IP conflicts and players coming in/out of connectivity.

Otherwise post on the Sonos boards for help, your experience isn't typical and one of Sonos strengths is the ease of its utility.

(If you live in a built up area, after you disable auto channel switching, download 'Inssider' for your laptop, see what channels are least used by neighbours and make that your selection, or Google for info)
