Stumbled across this when doing grocery shopping. Cannot believe that a major retailer like Tesco is still selling this kind of thing. Made me chuckle.

For anyone under the age of 25 here is a wikipedia link explaining what these are.

I fully expect there to be an imminent craze for mix tape making as soon as this deal goes hot.

Genuine question, do they still broadcast the Top 40 on Sundays on Radio 1? Anyone who used tapes back in the day knows about the skill of trying to record your favourite songs by cutting out the dj talkover by ninja use of the pause button.
Big up the high speed dubbing crew lol

Tell me about it. I spent a few weeks over Christmas trying to get the entire East17 Stay Another Day song on tape without interruptions.

"Baby if you've got to go away, I don't think I can take the pain, won't you stay another day."

Yeah. That songs stuck in your head now. Deal with it.

Now all we need is a time machine to go back to the 80's 😁
That price breaks the sound barrier!

Sure there was an artist recently who brought something out on tape! Was on Facebook, think trying to cash in on the vinyl revival but missing the point!

Was just thinking exactly that. Used to be really annoying when the cassette radio eat the tape on the way to pick the girlfriend up!!
Happy days

Top 40 is a Friday now.
I still use them. They have gone up in price since they have gone out of fashion. Very useful for land line recorder. Very useful for dicta phone. Modern dicta phones with their folders and you never know whether it has recorded. At least with a tape cassette you can see it moving. I have the latest tech, but sometimes old tech is just as useful if not easier and done might say better. Hence the revival of crackling vynal records.
I would add Wilko sell these takes as well.
Thought these had died along with Bin Laden
Any chance they do mini discs as well?
yes! I need some to tape the charts
Heat! Just for being retro!
Doesn't surprise me. I heard on the radio about a year ago that tapes were making a resurgence. God knows why - I can't believe it either!
Don't forget your bic biro
gosh I feel so young, still have plenty of blank tapes, C.D.s and midi discs
I loved my Super Woofer!

Also you can buy sega mega drive games on aliexpress. I did try to post it as a deal but mods taken it off. Heat added OP for this retro awesomeness

Oh come on. Has to be Chromium Dioxide to have any kudos - metal for preference. These appear to be ferric. Well cheap, though, I recall paying £1.50 each for BASF chrome C90s in the early 80s.

I saw the Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack on cassette in HMV just recently.
Kick ass and chew bubble gum, about time there's a decent deal on cassettes. Thanks.

But home taping will kill the music industry!!
How many games can I save on each cassette ?

Might be worth getting my zx spectrum back ...
Anyone else remember buying these from Woolworths with their pocket money?

They used to sell a pack of three Maxell or Memorex tapes in poundland for a pound, but see they are now selling an unbranded cassette tape for £5 each (good luck selling them poundland).
So voting this hot!
Lol that's cheap for antique

Ah yes it was a very skillful process, using one of those flat Tape Recorders with the nice chunky buttons. It was an art form to create a mix tape for your school sweetheart without the interuption of the DJ.
