Seems most most supermarkets have pushed battery prices up to cash in on the Christmas necessity. I decided to pop into Poundstretcher and found a 10 pack of Kodak heavy duty batteries for £0.99! So, I bought a few.

Just thought I would share

My friend uses them for wiimotes and they last for ages, might want to get your clock checked out :-S!

No, nearly always zinc-carbon if they say that. Fine for torches, radio controlled toys and the like which use a lot of current when switched on, but not so good for long-term low-drain applications such as, err... clocks! ;-) where Alkalines are the way to go (if you're not using rechargeables).

Megamart.

Heavy Duty in this instance means these batteries are ok for gadgets with constant low power consumption like remote controls or clocks, rubbish for cameras or dab radios and the like.

They sell these batteries in 12 packs in Poundland (for an extra 1p), pretty standard price for a pretty poor battery. Bought a few in the last few years, they are slightly better than the Hyundai brand which you can get 14 for the same price.

These batteries are shiiite. Only really useful for tv remotes and clocks.
