If 10 people need these contents at the same time then they need more than a first aid kit, something has really gone wrong.

You should see the industrial accidents they have frequently in Oxfam. Absolute carnage
I would advise not to waste your money on this and do a first aid course

Then realise what you actually need

Also please do not use plasters on people as they may be allergic and worst case could cause anaphylaxis

Couldn't disagree more!

Everyone should be forced to carry one in a car like they do in France

This covers the basics and it's usually the basics that catch people out.

A large cut in the wrong place can be temporarily sorted with this kit until an ambulance arrives.

Where do you read your news from?

Plasters causing anaphylaxis? Show me the data

Re the plasters, its actually true because of latex allergies which many plasters use.

BUT if they're well enough only to need a plaster, they'd be well enough to tell the treating person they're allergic to them im sure.

If someone has a cut I don't think a bit of determitis will be their main worry. If someone has a nail pulled off for instance, I'm slap chopping a plaster on that sausage!

So have this in the car but people don't have a clue how to apply a bandage or how to help someone with a sucking chest wound.

Casualty -Help me I'm dying
Public - Does anyone know first aid
kyballion - No but I have a £7 box from Amazon hope he's not allergic to plasters tee-hee

As a trained first responder I've dealt with stabbings, serious car collisions, self impaling, people dying in my arms. A first aid box ain't going to help you buddy.

Ok bud, even though I never quite got to that.

No, first aid should be a compulsory subject at school or a course that needs to be completed.

This plus the old Amazon kit from China will do wonders

It is now I believe in schools.

It should be mandatory for all adults especially parents.

It's not amazing but even the basics will save people's lives.

This first aid kit is for things like you cut your finger on a piece of paper

Honestly I would advise anyone to go on a 2 day course learn the basics and then realise what is and isn't needed.

Like having a tool kit in your car to change your tyre but no clue how to use it

Yep agree to this.

This year I am going to complete a course.

So which kit would you recommend?

Thanks

Honestly, none of them. The st Johns ambulance is the biggest rip off.

Wilko do quite a lot of pick and mix first aid items.

But as I said above unless you know what's for what there's no point

What we have in our bags is different to what you would

Toughcut scissors being one of them
Pocket mask with one way valves
Don't buy any face shields for CPR as if someone cough up blood you will be swallowing it
Surgical tape
Hazardous waste bags
Eye cleaning solutions
Latex gloves that will fall apart if you get a hole in them ( so you know they are broken)
Foil blanket

Many many things needed for a first aid kit. Depends on what you want it for,

sja.org.uk/cou…es/

A lot of councils do it

I made sure my wife did it when our son was born

So I guess I am better off building my own kit.

My missus got on a free course from her career but I want to complete one myself

Thanks for the link but which course would be the best to get started?

Appreciate this

Saved me doing a bunch of research

Have a look at your local council college a lot of time they do discounts sometimes like 30 a course

A good one to look for is paediatrics first aid for nursery staff. That covers all you need to know as is the bog standard first aid course
