I posted last week a £5 Sim for £1 and in the comments a HUKD user pointed out that you can this this as credit to buy apps. please see below a cut and past of that comment.....

from the other thread:

Maybe not a deal as such but I just discovered how to use up unwanted PAYG SIM credit to pay for apps on Google Play. I believe the same method will work on IOS devices. This works on EE, O2 and Three. EE (Chitterchatter) often have PAYG SIM cards on eBay with £5 credit for a quid so this is a very cheap way to buy apps, music and movies.

I don't have an Apple device so I haven't tested it but O2 has a link to doing this
o2.co.uk/cha…ile

and I suspect that other providers will do it too.

1. (optional) remove your usual SIM from your phone and insert the SIM with the unwanted credit.

2. Start up your phone and turn on data (even if WiFi is on).

3. Open Google Play, go to My Account, Payment Methods, Add Payment Method, Mobile Billing.

4. Choose whatever paid-for app you want and make sure you select Mobile Billing as the payment method.

5. You can now stick your usual SIM back in your phone but you will still be able to charge apps to your SIM with the unwanted credit. The payment method also shows up in other devices such as tablets.

6. Once your credit has been used up, go to Google Wallet
https://wallet.google.com/manage/w/0/#paymentMethods:

on your PC and remove the mobile billing facility for that SIM card.

7. Repeat as required!

looks like you can buy movies and music as well...not just apps.

in case anyone wonders, I did double check that it was £10 credit for £1 and it was.

Also this was in Southampton, but I guess it's nationwide?

Now, if anyone can tell me how to apply loads so I can purchase a Nexus device, that would be perfect!

I don't think these come with any credit its just the £10 pack that the sim is set up for
This interesting deal will probably get cold from the people who want it to stay hidden!

This is like saying 'Join Barclays Bank for £1 & get £100 free....after you've put £100 in your account'
anyone knows how to send that £10 from the sim to Google play balance? what if something on Google play cost £11

Not really. The general belief is that there is no £10 pre-loaded credit on this SIM; seems most posters believe / suspect the SIM has been prep'd for EE's £10 everything pack and if you want the £10 allowances you have to buy £10 credit. If the pack physically states "£10 credit included / loaded / preloaded" it would be prudent to upload image to silence the doubters. But until then...
