After getting this in my inbox I just tried to apply for this after being spammed by Groupon half a dozen times a day it says I don't have an account with them..

Could a Groupon rep please answer:

1) If I don't have an account why is my email address being bombarded with countless emails from Groupon many times every day?

2) I have paid for items in that account, how do I access them if I can't login?

3) I only used the account for purchases once, why is my account deleted? I have no emails about account closure?

Please reply asap.

Also if anyone else knows about this kind of thing please let me know, Groupon has been in the news a lot related to scams so idk if scammers rinsed my account and deleted it or if this is Groupons incompetence?

PS

Nice deal, heat added

Same happening with me. It says I don't have an account, I have paid for items in that account too. I also receive emails from them everyday.

I'm definitely on their mailing list, they've been sending 40 emails a week to my main account since I joined them in November to buy a dining promo item which is now inaccessible. The support link the account recovery process (the 'you have no account' email) provides is dead / error page.

I'll try calling. Real pita though Groupon, can a rep contact me, if you're going to delete my account without telling me I want a refund otherwise it's claims court time sadly.

Interesting, in the news there have been lots of reports of mass Groupon users having their accounts hacked.

It's most likely due to Groupon having poor server security so thousands of accounts and bank info are accessible to common hackers to buy items with.

If this is the case then Groupon should definitely be informing users directly (databases are always backed up) for security reasons and either reinstate their accounts from backup (if their tech dept is even partway competent) or otherwise making amends for their security negligence.

I created a new account with the same email address and the items that I paid for are still there.
I still have an unsued Primark gift card, don't know if it still works or stolen. Need to go to Primark to check.

That's brilliant advice thank you.

Edit: I opened a new account with my Groupon email and it's just an empty account.

There are no items

Sorry it didn't work for you.

No worries. Glad you got your gift card back.

Fortunately the items I had unused were not expensive so I'll just forget about the whole thing unless a Groupon rep wants to explain why people are losing their accounts.

Thanks again, have a good new year

Do you still have the confirmation email of your purchase? Try this. I clicked on View Order Status when I was logged in.39577949-rRsXW.jpg

I have all my confirmation emails but since I opened a fresh account after the last on disappeared none of the info is in my actual account.. no address, orders, cards.

It's ok, I'm just going to use my new account to get the same deal again lol

Cheers
I've had an argos 5 for 10 today. Worth keeping an eye open.

Almost as annoying as now being followed by targeted Groupon adverts promising primark, tesco, argos 10 for 5 vouchers then clicking on them and being told 'not for you mate'. If you don't want me to have the offer don't follow me around the internet with it, rubbing it in my face for the next few weeks isn't going to help your customer satisfaction.

Haha yes, they're really trying to flog as much milage out of that very shortly lived promo as possible. e-commerce marketers hoping that presenting the ex-offer as active will attract more site footfall and sign ups / purchases despite the inevitable disappointment after following the link.

And so it begins.....

I got an email about a Tesco promo this morning (£5 for a £10 Tesco spend voucher).

I wouldn't add it as a Deal as it's not available to everyone, but worth checking your Groupon account(s).

Edit: Tried four accounts (me using different codes over the years) and the one that has the Tesco promo is one I've not used for ages.
