It answers your question here
Hot Glue Wikipedia

Well I assume it does I got bored after the first few lines of reading
Bear in mind a 'real' glue gun will be 500W, this thing is fine for hobby type stuff, hence the glitter sticks but no use for serious gluing as the glue doesn't get hot enough.
The above answer explains it really, a proper hot glue gun can do a lot more than these little hobbyist things.
can the glue on these bond plastic to plastic?
Where do you buy spare glue sticks.
Be careful if you think this is a good thing for kids to play with.

Schools use low temp glue guns and low temp glue which works at around 100 degrees Celsius. Standard glue guns are more like 200 degrees + which can cause very bad burns.

As this doesn't specifically say it's a low temperature gun it is safer to assume that it isn't.

It's a bit of a pointless product - there's lots of glitter glues and other safe materials for kids to use for making crafts. And if you want a serious glue gun to stick something for DIY use then you won't be using glitter glue sticks!

I wouln't want kids usng ANY sort of glue gun without strict supervision. 100 degrees celsius is still boling point and would also cause a bad burn.

I agree with you Mike but last time there was a post for glue guns I said that and many parents came back and said their kids use glue guns at school. That's why I made this post to warn people that not all glue guns work at the same temperature. Seems a bit irresponsible to have glittery glue sticks in a product that would be dangerous for kids to use.
