For those who drink fortified wine, £10 is a bargain 10 year old port even when it is an Aldi standard price.

This one has the 2017 Gold Decanter Award. Available in store from 14 November but you can order on-line now, however you need to make up 6+ bottles of any wine per order.

This 10-Year-Old Tawny Port

is beautifully silky, with ripe figgy flavours and a long finish. There

are lovely aromas of dried fruit, nuts and honey, with hints of toffee,

chocolate and fine oak. It's perfect with cheese or any pudding.

  • Allergy:

    Contains Sulphites
  • Aroma:

Dried fruits, a delicate nuttiness, honey and a hint of toffee

For two posts I combined two bottles in one post. Each to their own, some may think £10 is hot but £30 is cold. Last night up to 01:00 , all my port posts went pretty close to zero heat after about 20 or so votes except for the 40 year old which average at 1 degree per vote and was at 40 degree heat. Interesting to see how the voting pans out for port.
The gimmicky £8 M&S decanter port , or its 3 bottles at £19 pricing, plus the Dow's reserve at £6+ get heat over 200 degrees though.

Tescos 10 year old finest tawny is only £12 a bottle, and when the 25% off offer is on - which it will be soon, then it's better value than this at only £9 a bottle.

Good point, I just checked! Just the Taste the Difference ranges only of Wine, Champagne, Sparkling, Sherry & Port.

5.Customers must state the participating category where they wish to spend their Nectar Double Up voucher at the time of issue. Vouchers cannot be redeemed or part redeemed on items from any other category than is specified on the voucher. There are 7 participating categories: 1. Tu Clothing ONLY 2. Electricals ONLY 3. Toys ONLY 4. Entertainment ONLY 5.Taste the Difference: Wine, Champagne, Sparkling, Sherry & Port ONLY 6. Homeware ONLY and 7. Seasonal ONLY

So for port only two choices (probably at full price then) which I don't buy normally buy may try with Nectar double up this week on the 15th.

1. Sainsbury's Special Reserve Port, Taste the Difference 75cl (at £8.50 or £10)
2. Sainsbury's Vintage Port, Taste the Difference 75cl (at £18 or £20) <==hassle as it needs decanting, but it can age more to at least 2022-2027 (5 to 10 years from now) and may still taste a bit better.
