I thought it was only OLED screens that were prone to screen burn, in which case it seems very easy for Samsung to offer a 10 year warranty against it, given that they don't make OLEDs
If they actually made a proper OLED TV they wouldn't offer this, lol.
Common.Sense26/02/2019 14:56

You my friend are a clown.
How I use my TV is how I use my TV.
Samsung may as well be offering no screen burn in on their other appliances such as microwaves and washing machines for all this pointless marketing exercise is worth!

Very old news and will be valid till they take off this registration! So a deal everyday if you want to post one!
Good info for Samsung tv owner

I don’t like Samsung as a company, I’m not a fan of most of their products, but even I’ve had to add heat for a good selling point.

I was thinking the same!
Now we just need no ads on their TV's and we have a winner
Never buy a Samsung TV again after they dont support TV's just over 1 year old, they cant treat customers this way.

and people will queue at midnight for the samsung s10 like fools i avoid samsung like the plague since their tvs are trash
Samsung were smart not to make oled, they knew about the issues.

No ads? Where?
Currently trying to figure out if I should get a QLED or OLED so any info I can get the better! Thanks.
Do LED TV even suffer from screen burn.. I thought this was an issue with the plasma TVs

It's actually an underhand tactic to encourage people to buy their inferior 'Q' LEDs instead of superior OLEDs from other brands.

You are right to not like them.

I run LEDE so it wouldn't be a concern. But it's still an issue. People pay thousands for their TV's. There shouldn't be ads.

I tend to leave my TV on for hours on end in the background - on sports channels, SKY news etc. Would I be silly to get an OLED?

It's very unnoticeable. It's literally like a small icon on the menu.

Probably not the ideal choice for you, a much cheaper TV is adequate for that usage.

There's a good chance of image retention or even burn in. It's debatable but for something like that yes probably

You would be silly not to change your ways and just use the standby switch. How hard is it?
Ultimate laziness = unemployable, in my view. But, that's just me.

What the hell are you talking about? I use it for background noise while I'm working etc
gsj8713 m ago

No, the only time I've ever seen an add is if I've used the DVD player and turned it all off. The tv will then start up where it left off but if the DVD player is off it will default to movie trailers.

I use sky so this is once in a blue moon for me since the tv goes back to the sky input setting and will just give a no signal screen if sky is off.

I had to google what people were going on about when complaining about trailers because I don't get them, probably because I have set the tv to turn on to the last input source.

When you push the main home button to select Netflix tile etc there’s an add tile that you have to scroll past to get to the first app.

You asked a stupid question, didn't you? Stream your television programs from a phone, or laptop if you just want to hear the sound. It also uses less energy and is "greener".

Big fat con as led’s don’t suffer from screen burn. Surprised they’re not offering 20 years as they will never have to honour it.

Such a bizzare, bitter comment. A lot of people have TV's on in the background when cooking or working or just for background noise. You also seem to be confused about the difference between radio and tv, you cant get radio of every channel, in fact, probably only a handful. Unless you can point me in the direction of a radio frequency for all sport channels and news channels? Ironic having to spell this out, given your username... P.S hope you are using the computer's down your local internet cafe or library, and not anything too power consumptive, seeing as you are very green conscious
