i wouldn't be so sure, the reviews are awful. i saw this the other day and changed my mind after reading. i had a load of really cheap thing crap discs a few years ago, after i wrote on the top and put the discs in a pile, they would stick together and the silver bit that the data is burned into just peels right off. there was no proper coating on the top of the disc, so easily scratched which destroyed the disc. the bottom of the disc that's normally the bit you have to be careful of scratching was fine, it was the top that wasn't. i get the impression it might be the same here

but if someone gets them and tries them and they are fine, i might give them a bash for £6, although i rarely use cds these days

its the top of the disc you actually need to avoid scratching. although the laser reads through the bottom of the disc, the actual silver/shiny film is directly on the top layer.

The OP has already told us, 20 were burnt and were fine, so going by that they dont seem too bad.

I only ever use ritek disks, for the money you could use these as Frisbee's for the dog

ordered ...fingers crossed I don't need any more shiney garden ornaments!!

Ordered - Thanks. Cant go wrong for £6 delivered!

great bargain, about 6p a disc

The review stating the lacquer is just a thin varnish coating is enough to put me off personally. There was a problem with this is the late 80s to early 90s with a certain number of retail audio CDs whereby the protective layer on the top was easily cracked, once this happens it allows CD Rot destroying the data through oxidisation.

Of course, some people don't really care and see price as the main buying factor, but if you are backing up data, treasured photos etc then look out.

All CD's should be fine now a days.

Not if the lacquer is easily compromised, the metal recording layer you can kiss goodbye to.

Price is now at £6.37 - still hot
