Heat for the heads up - hopefully there will be no issue using this service (or if they do decide to disappear they let you transfer your data first!)
Have you considered Flickr? They offer 1Tb of free storage...

Agreed. Similar to 'Copy' from Barracuda and a few other platforms I've seen.

Free storage just isn't a practical business model.
Thanks
I Hadn't realised Flickr offer 1TB free - what's the downside?
I have been using it and it seems to work. But when I accessed my profile on degoo site I could not see my files. Maybe need to check it further. As for the app on android, if you delete the app, all your files will be deleted too, though they say that an email will arrive to inform you in order to confirm whether you want your files deleted or not. Anyway is free and indeed you gain more storage by watching videos/ads. Thank you
Tempted - got 50gb for free with The Box, although I don't even scratch the surface with that. This would be getting it for the sake of getting it on one level, although with 85gb's of music on my computer it could be an interesting cloud option.
Been using the paid option for about 18 months as it’s cheap but the speed really is very bad and the backup server regularly goes offline and unable to connect. Support is slow to respond and not exactly helpful

There was almost no downsides until last year, then they started charging for the sync application.
You can still upload your photos manually though.
Can it be used on iphone? The free 5gb ran out and backup failed notice keeps showing
I use the free 100gb on my desktop pc and the upload speeds are very slow (I've got fibre with close to 10meg upload speed). Once the full backup is complete then not so bad as only incremental changes need to be sync'd. Not sure if upload speeds are any better using mobile apps, but wouldn't of thought so.
They seem to be too dumb to add Linux support so I wouldn't trust them with any important data
I've seen so many 'free' storage providers withdraw their 'free' storage that I can't be bothered with them anymore

I guess the "downside" is it's limited to 200 MB per photo and 1 GB per video with a maximum length of 3 minutes - there are ads, to be fair I've never noticed. The other thing (and I reckon this is true for any "cloud" service) is Flickr may delete accounts without giving any reason or warning to the account's owner.
I set this up on my tablet last month as yet another backup for my photos while I'm away traveling. Also set up Mega bit haven't tried it yet. Their 50gb should be enough, but 100gb....that'll do me!

Owned by Yahoo who freely distribute everything they know about you because wtf is security. Never again.
Just be careful you dont up on some wierd adult rated site
Thanks
Just to add that Degoo is a cold file storage option so will always be slow to recover backed up files - it’s not a comparison to something like Dropbox or onedrive etc
Shame it won't work on Ubuntu (or other linux flavours) at this moment, but great free backup storage deal to those who have Windows / iOS

Why would the inability to speak prevent them from adding Linux support?:/

Maybe they're spending too much time on being pedantic rather than Linux porting?

Seriously though, they seem to have been working on Linux support for a couple of years so this suggests two things, they're too stupid (better?) to work it out and their service probably runs on Windows servers since they have no Linux skills, I don't want anything of importance being stored on Windows servers if I can help it. Since I haven't really looked into it, even if they are using Linux servers, if they don't have the skills to develop a Linux client, what other Linux skills are they lacking?
What I need is a free service that lets me move stuff directly between various clouds seamlessly. There used to be something called CloudKafe many years ago; sadly, closed.
Thats 200gb now from @Trending thanks dude.
