I ‘member when one drive gave space ‘free for life’ then took it all back
Be aware also that they've scanned people's uploaded files in the past and have deleted people's accounts based on the names of filenames they've found! If you want privacy, this is probably not for you....

Zoolz's justification was that it was torrent files, videos etc, which you can understand but i does go to show that they're tracking access, IP addresses, looking at files etc.

How does this compare to Dropbox?
Thanks for the post, can this be used for CCTV storage as I use blue iris and wondered if i can save the footage direct to the free 100gb?
It's good but the upload is slow and the restore is not instant. But you can set it and forget it and it makes a good annex to Google Drive, and your own personal backup solutions. I've had it for a number of months now.
thanks op.
I got this initially a few months back then got the 1tb (500 gb instant and 500 gb cold storage for a 1 off cost of about 30 quid. Use it to store home vids and pics as a backup. Been solid so far.

As will these people. They all do it. Hope to get you reliant on the service then start charging.

Nothing like Dropbox. This is a cold storage backup solution where it takes ages to upload and you have to wait to get to your data back. That's why it's free. Dropbox, Google Drive etc, are more like drag and drop solutions where you have instant access and retrieval.
100GB is pretty meagre. That's only about 23 DVD's worth of data. One 128GB usb stick holds more.

Then in a few months they knock your free 100GB back to 10GB and they try to charge you for more. Or you have to pay more for fast uploads. Or you have to pay more to upload files bigger than a certain size.

As long as none of that bothers you, go for it I guess.

No business model like this survives by being free.
Like others have said, I unfortunately expect charges to follow and storage to be slashed unless you cough up.

It's actually not very useful. To use it you have to download their backup application (which is massive). The 2TB version lifetime 2 user version (£34) which I posted earlier elsewhere, you can simply upload and share individual files in lots of different ways to anyone, particular users with notifications etc, etc
