Looks like Quidco offer £85 cashback too!! quidco.com/sky…?ac
Edited by: "nicster08" 18th Mar 2011

Sounds great, but can't see them paying out quidco if they are giving a £100 voucher to M&S as well, it states on Quidco cashback would not be paid if a voucher is used, don't know if that counts or not, certainly worth it for a year contract alone. Offer ends next Thursday! that doesn't give us very long .

me thinks this is gonna get hot!

So if I have sky already and I upgrade to the hd pack I get this? Also would I lose my existing retention half price deal? Cheers

It doesn't look like you get the£85 if you upgrade only If your a new customer. I could be wrong though?

I got something similar ages ago for recommending a friend. Deal was £50 M&S vouchers. I never received the M&S vouchers. Got sick of emailing/ringing Sky about it, in the end I just gave up

I got my 50.00 voucher and so did my mother in law. No emails nothing, they were just sent.

I had to email sky to get my vouchers, the 1st time they tried to say I was not entitled to them, but I had a screen print saved!, I think sky got a slap on the wrist for this:

guardian.co.uk/med…-ad

In your email to Sky say you will complain to the advertising standards authority, they will send the vouchers then!

I think if you have had the HD pack before you don't get this deal

Defo gonna give this a go - cheers

This business of having to be connected to a phone line for 12 months puts me off. How do they know anyway? What's to stop me from running an extension lead to the box for installation purposes and then pulling it as soon as the engineer is out the door?

I think you would. When I added sky movies at the end of the year it cancelled out the deal I was previously recieving.

Yep, I had to email Sky for the vouchers around this time last year.

Waited approx 1 month for them, then emailed Sky & they sent them within 2 days

May have to see what sort of deals we can get for renewing our contract. If rubbish, gonna cancel & probably either go to Virgin or rejoin Sky as a 'new' customer

You don't need to plug in / have a phoneline. They just advise that you should to receive pay per view content.

I'm currently trying to do this. beware though if you go through the upgrade bit.. it automatically puts the sky hd with Multiroom in your basket. It took me a while to find the bit I click on to just replace my box with a sky HD Box and get HD Pack.

I have 2 Boxes, 1 HD & 1 Sky+ Multiroom, tried to upgrade Sky+ Box, got slapped with the cost of the box/install, damn wont being that then!

Why must I connect my Sky Digibox to the phone line?Check your contract. … Why must I connect my Sky Digibox to the phone line?Check your contract. If you have signed a contract that says you must connect your Digibox to your phone line for 12 months, then you ought to (but you might get away with unplugging it for most of the time). The reason for the phone connection is that the consortium (which includes BT) hopes to make money from you when you order a pizza, movie or vote for something. You can waive the phone requirement by paying an additional £25.However, if you have signed a "multiroom" contract to get an additional viewing card then you MUST keep both Sky Digiboxes connected to the same phone line, permanently. Failure to do so will result in a letter from Sky. If you ignore it, they'll charge you the full subscription price for the second card.

The T&C clearly state otherwise - plus this from another site:

A few bits of info for you lot to muse over!

- You don't get £85 if you live in a flat,
- HD is only worthwhile if you get the full package!
- The Mark and Spencers vouchers take months to arrive, thats if they ever do, I rang and complained and got them
- SKY outsource all the different components meaning if you are waiting months for broadband there is not much they can do as its not there company that deals with it
- You are at the mercy of BT for the connect time scale(and may have to pay £45)
- The installation process is systematic, you get Sky+ once thats done a box is ticked which starts the BT connect, then a box is ticked which instructs the router been sent. It took me 3 months to have fully working broadband
- Do you really need SKY? We've had it for 6months now and aside from the broadband we barely watch any sky channels(we'd only miss Sky1 and Sky Atlantic if we got rid)
- If in a flat be warned you may only have single Feed(can only watch or record one thing at a time!

I was told by the engineer when he came to install my Sky that I didn't have to plug in the phoneline, only if I wanted to receive pay per view content. Since then I've never plugged it in my phoneline and this has been 14 months since installation...

I've never seen Sky pay out the £100 voucher. Twice have I signed up (once in my name, once in my gf's name), and neither time did they pay up or even respond to enquiries.

In fact, this was on Watchdog - they don't pay out.

For any new customers, I think it might be worthwhile waiting for another one of those half price Sky for a year codes to come out again (assuming they will).

Every year I swap between Sky and Virgin. Unfortunately I am 9 months in to my current Sky package so by gaining £100 M&S vouchers I would tie myself into a new 12 month contract at Full Sky rates (approx £800 per year with the package I have). I will let my existing contract expire and move back to Virgin on whatever is their best "new customer" deal.

This is a HOT deal for anyone who does not have the Virgin Media option. Both Sky and Virgin only tend to offer their best deals to "new" customers so I tend to flip.

I got my vouchers from a previous promotion eventually after chasing them hard. You have to have an active account / upgrade / whatever for 45 days before they send them...and even then you have to 'remind' them about it.

I got Quidco for £90 and M&S vouchers (eventually). They do pay out.

Hey just to let you know the quidco isn't for UPGRADES! There was a deal giving £90 which ended yesterday so MOD please update accordingly.

do i need to take out broadband with this?

If you work out
will i be paying 19.50 for 12 months which is £234
and cash back which is i get £100 M&S quidco £85 = £185
Or anything else.

Re PLUGGING IN TO PHONE LINE

1. If you just have one sky box then you do NOT need to do this after the initial setup. Any good installer will leave you a long extension cable so you can plug it in to receieve pay per view content should you want to.

2. If you have sky multiroom you WILL have to plug it in as sky need to check that you are not using the multiroom card at another address.

looks gud

Thanks for confirming / clarifying this. I guess mine was a good installer then as he left me a long extension cable.

Bit confused now.

Currently I pay £24.50 a month for sky+ with the entertainment pack.

How much will I have to pay with this? Do I drop the existing entertainment pack and the HD pack provide the same??

Sorry, subby, but COLD.

Last time, QuidCo / Sky didn't pay out for me and I've got > £500 of successful quidco transactions. Complained over and over and they flat out refused to honour the quidco. Very dissappointing.
