Does combi mean hammer?
Seems like a good deal. Has it ever been a lower price before?

Product only came to market at the start of this year. Cheapest price previously was £279.00.

Seriously good price for quality kit. If you have any doubt just check out the numerous reviews.
Brought this a few months back on this exact same deal. Love it

Yeah the 796 is a good combi. Just not their top of the line 996/7/8

Wish they would update their 887 impact driver though.
Good deal. Cheers op

What do you feel the 887 is missing?

I'm looking at purchasing that very soon.
Can pay less for this when the ebay vouchers come around, got my set on one of the eBay 20% off codes for £232 but with 2*5ah batteries

Still a good price though 😘

That's a crazy good price if you're prepared to wait. Although I have a feeling Ebay might not discount that deeply while we're all in isolation

Anyone interested the pack @jasrj is referring to is the DeWalt DCK266P2T. Exact same as above but with 2*5AH batteries.

The 796 is a great combi its light weight and very powerful its coped with everything ive thrown at it, the hammer function is really good. its the perfect all round drill. The 996, 997 and 998 are good too but they're not really combi drills, they're way too heavy as a general purpose combi, but they're really good for masonry work but if you're doing alot of masonry drilling you may as well get an sds.

Yes correct didn't notice the 'M' in the title.

I also have the 996 which is a beast and used mainly for drilling wall plates and ring beams, although the 796 would have done the 996 makes heavy duty stuff easier, the 796 comes into its own also as being a shorter in length and fits nicely between most joists.

Spent whole day working with red beasts and would never look back.
Is it worth just going for the Milwuakee deal with the bigger battery?
hotukdeals.com/dea…196
They seem quite similar otherwise!
I'm also looking into these and comparing them to the Milwaukee set of the same price.
Apart from the difference in the size of the batteries, the Dewalt impact driver has the higher torque 205Nm and the Milwaukee impact driver has 180Nm. I very much like the look of the Milwaukee. But also I know through working in construction, most carpenters use either Dewalt or Makita... Milwaukee never gets a look in for some reason.

Online I have heard better things about Milwaukee. Maybe they are normally just more expensive but at the same price point I think most would pick Milwaukee. Haven't tried both myself though.
I have these, for a hobbyist DIYer you can't go wrong, they are fantastic, although I bought mine from Amazon 18months ago with 2x5AH batteries for the same price.
