With the cheapest delivery option (£5.99) it comes to £18.98. I'll let you know what I think of the webcam when I get it!

Sounds like a good deal, I've voted it hot even though I don't need any blank discs (or a webcam) at the moment.

Thanks for this. Good deal. To get free delivery I added a CD wallet worth £6.99 so effectively got that for £1.

why is this cold?

I wouldnt personally touch these discs as this maxell promotion with the free webcam ended last year, in fact these packs where sold off in superdrug for just a few quid last year, meaning that these discs are already over a year old and may have started deteriorating

play.com do 100 maxell disc's for £12.99 delivered

Im sure they were selling these webcams last week for 99p.

I didn't realise these were old stock :-( Sorry, everyone. Does that mean the discs are no good?

Really needed new discs so I ordered before I posted on here..surely bigpockets wouldn't sell discs that have deteriorated?

Not the best price in my opinion.

Sob, it's cold in here :-( I suppose I'll find out when I get them! I'll still report back and let you know how the webcam is..giving it to my niece.

Blank discs generally have a lifespan of 5 years before the ink (and therefore data) may start deteriorating, the discs that superdrug where selling off was old stock then, so maybe already a year old, this was a year ago and these are the same promotional stock so that makes a minimum of two years or 40% of the lifespan. I value my data too much to risk older discs.

The guy I get my discs from gets them straight from the dockside warehouse weekly as they come straight in from china, so I know the discs are fresh, the warehouse as a turnover that means discs are never in the warehouse longer than a week or two at the most, its been known for him to have to wait while they unload the containers.
And at £9 per 100 discs its half of this price:thumbsup:

So should I complain to bigpockets, or cancel my order? I don't want to throw my money down the toilet. How can you tell you're getting decent discs from the internet :?

They will be ok for sticking films on too watch, but I wouldnt want to put much faith in them for data storage, if you do keep them somewhere cool and dark for amximum lifespan and copy them every six months or so for data integrity.

You are better off going to a local market trader who's main turnover is discs, build up a rapport with them (at one point I was buying1-200 a week), where I go he knocks money off for regulars and if you do end up with a iffy batch he will replace no hassles, if you only want to do it online then somewhere that specialises in discs such as svp, buying locally is often a fair bit cheaper though as its delivery that puts the price up due to the weight.

I'm right beside the Barras (famous Glasgow market), though I'm not sure I'd trust any of them haha!

Got it today, super-quick. The webcam's not bad, obviously not too detailed on full screen. The software which gives you things like swirly face/pixellated face/masks/animations is quite amusing too.

So, what am I supposed to store photos on, which I want to keep for decades not days?
