100% Pain Sauce (1,000,000 Schovilles) - £3.99 @ Marks and Spencer

Found 4th Aug 2012
Marks and Spencer have unveiled a new sauce, but this isn’t just any hot sauce, it is made up of the hottest pepper in the world.

Packed full of habenero pepper, which can reach up to 1,000,000 on the Schoville scale (a spice ‘Richter’ scale) it is described as ’100% pain sauce’ and comes with a warning that it is not for the faint-hearted.

Hailing from Kansas, USA, the sauce is 100% natural and bright red in colour with the habeneros chillies dotted throughout.

M&S warn that the £3.99 sauce should not be eaten on its own, but is the perfect fiery compliment to chicken and meat.

Are you man enough?

The price isn't too bad for this, I've seen it elsewhere more expensive. So the deal in itself is hot.
Maybe not the hottest but still seems good enough.

At no point is the product described as being 'the hottest' or even the 'the hottest in the world'. So, I don't see why the deal is cold because it is not "2million shu".

This is not a description of the manufacturer, nor of M&S. This is in fact an incorrect statement from a Daily Mail article (surprise surprise...)

So, yes, I'm pretty sure.

Which clearly was not my point, and I'd much rather give credence to the manufacturer's own description, than a Daily Mail reader.

What about the ghost Chilli ?
get infinity sauce - its UK made with UK peppers and was the hottest in the world for a while. 8 quid a bottle. It is insane.
Cold for me because its made with chilli extract.
They might be able to back up their claim if it had Trinidad Moruga Scorpion or Butch T but Habanero? err no
Original Juan do market some hot sauces but this aint one of them. False advertising if they claim a hab can get upto 1 mill scoville

This is a hot sauce! scorpion & naga viper

Haha, burn! (no pun intended.)
They might as well call it"Gaylord sauce for bummers"
It's not hot enough to burn the lining of a goats anus, so what is the point ?

They're obviously not gonna make it ridiculously hot. If somebody died from a heart attack or something, M&S would get sued.
Whats the point of it anyway? So you can say you're a 'man' cos you can handle it?
I like spicy foods, not silly silly hot where my tongue starts to hurt from the heat but a curry that makes me sweat is enough.

I foolishly ate a small chilli last week and it took two pints of Kingfisher to numb and dull the burning tongue. It got to the point that even eating a luke warm bit of curry afterwards felt like someone was pouring the sun's surface directly onto my mouth!

Do people like that feeling of discomfort rather than just a nice curry that you can taste and makes you break out into a bit of a sweat?
yer, beer isn't really the most effective thing to drink if you want to cool your mouth down after eating chilli.

ive been using da bomb for a few months.
bloody gorgeous stuff.
you can pick it up occasionally for £3 in TKMAX.
they also have this taste the pain quite often but never tried it.
What's the point of this? Food isn't supposed to hurt.
If you want pain, set your nuts on fire. Much more painful and cheaper too.
interesting sauce... thanks for introducing
at a hot sauce boss, there comes a point where these just take like tin foil, and this sauce doesn't offer too much in the flavour department. it's fun to trick your mates into trying some but it doesn't add a lot to your dishes.

for me, the best hot sauce i've ever tried is Mad Dog's Inferno. viciously hot, no iron taste at all, and a real nice almost smokey flavour. spread with a brush over pizza, dip a kebab skewer in the bottle and scrape a nice line down the middle of your fajitas, honestly it's the bomb. and is very hot, it's perfect. available on eBay for about £6 a bottle delivered, used sparingly (advised) a bottle will last about a year.
