Some reasonable deals at 50% off. Just a word of warning to anyone tempted my the Techtonic fryng pan - don't. I had two and the non-stick came off both after a few weeks.

I got the Dubarry set last time the offer was on a few weeks ago. Excellent value.

Cold. Poundland do cutlery sets... 30 knives, forks & spoons for a quid.

Ignore above comment. Turns out the knives won't cut through mash potato, and the spoons snap in angel delight.

I have got as far as entering my card details but no sign of space for the code. I don't want to click proceed in case it goes through at full price. Is there another screen to come where I can enter the code?
I am ordering through quidco

Was just going to say!

Glad you found it okay

I'm tempted by the rattail set.
I have my normal day to day cutlery and I got the whole range of the alessi cutlery last year from for special occasions, but it feels imbalanced...I might throw it all on eBay and get a viners set.

Or for a £5 more can order silver plate set which in mho has better looking pattern design :))

Ignore the usual made-up RRP. It's worth (surprise, surprise) exactly what they're selling it at. Viners is cheap mass-produced low-end cutlery these days, and this is made from the the even lower end 18/0 steel instead of the more usual 18/10.

No problem with that if you accept it for what it is (though IKEA offers better value) - it's the rip-off fake RRPs with Viners aimed at deceiving customers that hack me off.

I have eight place settings of the 18/10 (TEN not the zero stuff in the offer here) Rattail stuff from the Viners site, which I bought under two years ago with a code. I love Rattail but honestly I wouldn't buy this again. The teaspoons are TINY, seriously half the size of any others I have, and too short to reach the bottom of my mugs. The spoon bowls (dessert and soup) are very shallow indeed so you can barely get any soup on and the forks are kinda flat if you know what I mean, not curved enough. I was pretty disappointed. Theyre not nice big pieces of cutlery either. The only items I really like are the dinner knives which are nice and long and have good heavy weighted handles. I've not used them THAT often considering there are generally only two of us in the house and i probably have twelve of each cutlery item, but they have lost all of their "shine" already. I do use a dishwasher. My sister has a more expensive cutlery set from a different brand and a fork she left here is still mirror shine after about eight years.

I wish I'd waited and found a better set. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I'll stick with my Alessi set then, it's pretty heavy and seems decent quality

1. It's a spoon for eating grapefruit (specifically shaped, with a serrated tip for removing the segments).
2. You don't eat grapefruit.

Bought 2 items from Viners in the past. Set of pans supposedly professional, very cheap and nasty. Set of cutlery again supposed to be top notch and they were poor quality and thin. Avoid

Who knew there were so many bargain cutlery critics?

WHO KNEW?

The above comments are making me regret the purchase. If I reply to my confirmation email and ask to cancel, will they refund my payment?

Who knew? Maybe the same people that got caught by Viners before. Completely fabricated RRPs, poor quality goods, and all because they've managed to create some sort of illusion that Viners is a quality brand.

Don't get me wrong. It was - but about 40 years ago when Viners was a quality Sheffield cutlery manufacturer. Now it's nothing but a front for cheap imported stuff from the far east. Buy it in cheap, stick a Viners label on it, and hey presto - alchemy. Lead to gold overnight.

I was about to buy but after reading all these comments I better stick with my ikea ones.

guessing a fair few use cutlery rather than their grubby paws so there was always a good chance

Hi oxter, I don't know what you ordered, but my Rattail 18/10 cutlery isnt terrible. It will last a lifetime Im sure. It's just not .. stamped? enough for my liking, its all kinda flat, not shaped enough, and the other stuff I said on my previous post. I'ts just not what I thought it was going to be. But I think you really do get what you pay for. Its still heavier quality than my other cutlery that I got from John Lewis's some years ago.

It's exactly what this site is for. Post bargains and have a thread with people posting giving their experience to help others decide. Not critics, just consumers.

Anyone getting these might want to avoid putting them in the dishwasher, they WILL rust.

I got 18.0 Bead about 8 years ago, and mine are still in very good condition. None have rusted, and washed in the dishwasher daily. I think this set is excellent value for money. At least 3 visitors have gone onto buy Bead after using mine. I hope all the people who ordered this set are as pleased as I was with mine, and I would have bought this deal without hesitation if I needed any cutlery.

Agreed. My HUKD addiction was about to lead to another purchase I didn't really need. Now after reading the comments I shall refrain and save myself £40.
