£100 when you switch to Current Account Plus

Got this through the post:

Current Account Plus is subscription-free and comes with a linked Savings Plus account so you can easily move money from one account to the other and enjoy interest on your savings as you go.

Interest on all balances in Savings Plus tracks 0.5% below the Bank of England Base Rate, guaranteed for the life of your Current Account Plus and you can open both accounts with one simple application. To open and maintain a Current Account Plus you must pay in a minimum of £800 per month.

FOR THE £100-
Open a current account plus by 30 Spt 2008 and deposit a minimum of £800 per month and we will credit your savings plus account with £100 on or before 28th Nov 2008. To maintain an account you must pay in a minimum of £800/month.

Call 0800 587 7334 and Quote ref: 20132

A similar offer was available a while back where we would get £100 after 3 months. This one is slightly different.

The Current Account Plus and Savings Account Plus is a fee-free account.

...which pretty well sums it up.
The bank also issues Electron cards, which are useful if you regularly fly with Ryanair. :whistling:
(though that rather aggressive airline says this is for a "limited period").

Sorry, but this has already been posted, about a month ago and the details seem to be either in branch, or on a leaflet I got from a branch.

Oh, I see the dates are slighly different in this new post. The above thread has some good info though

Sorry but I did mention this is slightly different. I took advantage of the previous offer. This one has a reference available to anyone and you should be able to call up customer service to open the account. I received it today through the post.
Besides, as has been pointed out on various occasions, it helps those who missed out on a deal when similar deals are posted more than once.

Yes, no problem. I also took advantage of the previous offer and await the £100.

The previous offer seemed to imply you had to switch accounts (which I didn't, when I opened the account over the phone with my local branch).

What does this leaflet imply

Well I applied for the previous offer early on and I didn't think I had to switch. But reading the last few posts somebody said something about switching...The leaflet I received does say u have to switch.

This is almost identical to First Direct. £100 to join. Also gives £100 if you leave! FD is brilliant - great bank, UK service centre, auto sweep into savings account @ 4.5% (and fantastic offset mortgage if you want one). After banking with HSBC for 30 years it has been wonderful to move to FD (also part of the HSBC group - but immensely better). I had an ISA with Co-op for a while but found it cumbersome to handle things via the net. FD is good via telephone or the net.

Hi,

I have already opened Current Account plus. When I applied, I was assured that i just have to pay £800 a month to qualify for £100 cashback. I am doing this for the last 2 months.

I just called 0800 587 7334 and the advisor confirmed that you do not have to switch current account from old bank. You just need to pay in £800 every month to qualify.

Bumped and added heat. Ever since the awful merger of Lloyds and HBOS I have to say this illegal move is awful for the future of good deals. I'm moving all my accounts from these people which means a new main bank account - I've been looking last couple of days and since these are pretty ethical in their investments and I don't have any savings to take a major advantage of better deals in saving accounts - I think this is a pretty good deal assuming its still one - only a week left of it if it is!

Went to Watford branch who said that as long as the money has been paid in then we will get the £100 in December. Spoke to 2 nice ladies, one was especially pretty , who advised me that if the money does not show up by January then to come see them. They will do the necessary.
I did call the contact centre before that and the lady said that it all depended on which branch opened the account etc etc
Watford said it was being done centrally and as long as the account was opened with a certain period and money paid in then everything will b fine.
