£8 per month (6 month contract)

While looking at the £1 (30 day) Talk Mobile deal, I spotted this. £8 a month seems to compare well with paying GiffGaff £10 a month for 250 minutes, unlimited texts and "unlimited" data.

Calls are a bit pricey if you go over though at 30p per minute and texts at 14p each.

Talk Mobile use the Vodafone network, which is one of the best.

plus £30 cashback through Quidco or Topcashback

even though they use vodafone are they any good? same speeds on net etc?

Excellent deal, probably the best all round sim only tariff you can get for under a tenner.

Compares ok to £10 giffgaff, but imo that's a no brainer for heavier text/data users. If this was a 30day contract would go hot, but with the 6 month tie in...

Hot from me, cant wait to get out of my current contract & onto something like this.

Looks good, but what are the charges for going over the 500MB?

£30 Quidco on this tariff - brings it down to £3 a month. Should turn the heat up for those with the ability to clear cookies before ordering!

Topcashback is the same too!:p

hot price, might suggest for some people! ... i'm going giffgaff though for the data usage just in case i go over!

It does look as if there is also £25 Quidco cashback on the £8 per month ONE month contract, offers slightly fewer minutes and texts than the SIX month contract.

SIMple £8, 1 month

* 200 minutes
* 500 texts

500MB mobile internet data included

so could effectively cancel after three months and have the three months for free, all subject of course to timing of having received cashback etc

i'm on talk mobile and live in London, data is pretty fast and the call quality is fine.
When i visit my mum in Caldicot in wales, i still get reception there.

Thumbs up from me!

Generally I think you need to put a cashback claim in for talkmobile. I had to and still waiting for a response after 3 months, so wouldn't hold your breath waiting for it.

@Boisterous - HSDPA is an enhanced (faster) 3G protocol so surely "only getting HSDPA" is a good thing??

yes it is its the best mobile internet speed in the uk.

Odds of quidco paying out?

Took a contract out with talkmobile a couple of months ago. Cashback received after 1 month.

Nice deal, but the concern is getting a giant bill by using the data.

If that's potentially a problem for you, probably chitterchatter is a better deal: £10/month, 30 day contract, 350 mins, 300 texts, internet booster (which means you just get throttled if you dload too much, rather than get billed £100 for every gigabyte over limit). There's also a 12mth'er, £10/mth, 600m + 500t + internet.

Worth thinking about. Personally I know how much I've used so it's not an issue.

At £3 a month and potentially less, this is a steal.

It's not difficult to prevent that. All you have to do is dial 5888 from your handset and it'll tell you exactly how many mins, texts and data you have left until your next allocation. 500MB is plenty, as long as your not constantly downloading and streaming videos it'll easily be enough for the average user.

use my galaxy europa on this contract. 3G watchdog app if you are worried about going over your limit. APN droid app if you get close.

why not just get giff gaff, £10 a month no tie in's as it is basically payg. unlimited texts, unlimited internet, 500 mins, and they use o2 and you can get o2 moments

I'm on GiffGaff. £10 a month gets 250 mins not 500 as you say humpanator. This deal is £2 a month cheaper than GiffGaff and you get more minutes. 1000 txts and 500Mb data is unlimited in all but name for most users. Plus it's Vodafone, which is better than O2. That's why I'll be moving to Talk Mobile in a couple of weeks when my goodybag expires.

can you show me the url to this £10pm giffgaff deal?

just done 6 months at 8 quid deal, had quidco for years but never used it so i basically wiped all cookies from firefox, went through to talkmobile via my quidco and ordered from their. Is that what i was supposed to do ? lol

Is Quidco tracking?

mine has tracked at £30

Does anyone know if I take this out will the 1st month start when I click buy or will it start when i put the sim in the phone? Is it easy to bring my number with me too? Just wondering as have only ever been on payg so far.
