This is yet another "Pre Black Friday deal" and is due to expire in a few days so be quick if you're interested.

Yes I know most of you curl 100kg but for us mere mortals 100kg is adequate to work with. Pretty good deal for Oly weights and the bar is included, delivery is free too.

I've used the company before and they deliver usually in 2-3 days by Royal Mail 48.

Specs:

6 ft chromed olympic barbell with knurled grip
Cast iron hammertone coated olympic discs
This product is categorised as an "Olympic" format weight lifting product - Olympic bars are 50mm (2 inches) thick, and olympic weights have a hole in the centre of each disc of just over 50mm (2 inches) thick enabling them to be used on "Olympic" bars.
Discs: 2 x 15kg, 2 x 10kg, 4 x 5kg, 4 x 2.5kg, 1 x pr olympic spring collars
Special "Grip" design for safe and easy loading and unloading of bar

just wondering , in the second part of the product description in their site it says:
"• 1 x 6ft chromed and knurled Olympic Barbell
• 1 x pair of Olympic Spring Collars
• 4 x 2.5 kg Rubber Radial Discs
• 4 x 5 kg Rubber Radial Discs
• 2 x 10 kg Rubber Radial Discs
• 2 x 15 kg Rubber Radial Discs"

what do they mean by rubber radial ?

If the photo shows the actual item then nothing, unless they're bragging about switching over from crossplies on the delivery vans

Very good price, heat.

These are cheap! Great deal, rotating bars are much better on the wrists than the static 1inch bars out there.

will probably be this set? Bodymax 100kg on Amazon

Oh, I like the look of that. I'm probably going to order one this morning . thanks

actually off that.... best to go via the main barbell page!
Main page

Good price thanks

It's a good price for some good quality weights but just in case anyone didn't know it's 80kg of weight plates and the bar weighs 20kg, I bought some of these second hand and they do the job just fine - heated

Unless my math is wrong the title should read '80kg Olympic weights and 6ft bar'

To light even for curling.

Your postie is going to hate you, lol

This is a post for muscles. Will all brainiacs please move on to the techno-babble discussions on the other posts please.

80kg plus bar just gets heat from me. Title should be changed.

It seems they've mixed the listings. They have a cast iron set and one which is neutral and has a solid plastic/rubber sort of mould around it. Although very solid, I think after a while when it's been dropped many times, etc, some parts get dented or may chip off from the rubber mould (maybe after a done heavy use and you like dropping your weights constantly on some sharp edges), which will only make a slight difference to the weight, but they won't look as good. I know this coz we have some of these in our gym when they first started.

I believe they've changed the description in the site, "Cast iron hammertone coated olympic discs"

All about the cast iron ones as pictured.

P. S. Good price. Heated.

If you leave the item in the checkout basket they tend to send an email with an extra % off. Also I've phoned them up and they generally always give you a better deal / upgrade

Ordered, thanks. Been looking for a set for around 6 weeks and the best price for 140kg was £240 on eBay (new). Add a set of 20kg plates here and I'm sorted for a lot less!

voted hot, would take the jump but I'm looking for a 7ft bar, hopefully they will release a deal soon.

tempted so much! somebody stop me ordering it

The bar weighs 20kg, Olympic records on weightlifting include the weight of the bar, so the title makes sense.

How many here can bench press this lot.. I can

Damn i could push this all day no problems, but the clips will be too hard for me.

Hmm in the description it says "The Bodymax 100kg Olympic Cast Barbell Kit with 7ft Olympic Bar "

7ft bars are usally 20kg with 6ft around 15kg? I couldn't find any 6ft 20kg bars (from a quick google search)

I expect 'rubber radial' is a mistake - these are their rubber radial weights: http://www.powerhouse-fitness.co.uk/bodymax-olympic-rubber-radial-weight-plates.php

Even better deal if it was them.

Though, I'd definitely prefer a 7' bar, unless space is limited (And yes, thought 6' were normally lighter).
Wish I could sort my dodgy shoulders, so I could get back on it.

Just confirmed with sales rep, bar is 6ft at 18kg.

2kg collars?

100kg? ok for a girl I suppose.

if you want weight plates look at Jordan fitness. £1 a kilo.

If I only had garage, great deal just
need few extra second hand plates.

Would not recommend buying from these people. Customer service is appalling. Didn't send out my order without constant chasing - one item was missing which they promised to send. After chasing that up several times they claimed it had been lost by Royal Mail and wouldn't refund. Gave up in the end. Incompetent idiots.

I'm not the only unhappy ex-customer

Well done.

I can bicep curl it

A fitness post? Here come the armchair arnolds...

Seems a good deal, however I'd keep in mind what gari189 has just said above.

Thanks

It's not a bad deal, as you got to consider this olympic bar set. Which if some of you do not realize, is different to most of the weights you see in Tesco etc. As they are 1" holes, where as the Olympic is 2". Just thought I pointed this out.

COLD - i can lift one of these with one arm, i need to go now and drink some eggs and protein shake "YEAHHHH LETS DO THIS!! YOU LOOKING AT ME??!!?!??!?!!? YEAH THOUGHT NOT!!! I COULD BENCH PRESS YOU 1000 TIMES"

£100 delivery to a UK mainland address is ridiculous.

customer service is pretty poor I'd agree - things not being delivered on the agreed upon day is fairly common in my experience - but when it does come its good quality

I would recommend paying the extra £40 and going for this
