100MB 4G Data Every Month - Free For Life @ EE

Found 18th Oct 2014
Buy a 4G EE pay as you go SIM before Christmas and top it up with £5 to activate, and get free 100MB data every month. No end date. No catches.

Great for low users or maybe for bunging into an iPad?

You do NOT need to buy a phone or tablet to get this deal. Just a PAYG SIM will activate it. Proof in post #108 with receipt.

-------------------------------
For buying it online without having to give bank details or set auto top-up...

Step 1 – shop.ee.co.uk/mob…ans
Step 2 – Click on Pay as You Go tab
Step 3 – Scroll to the "Just get a sim and some credit" text and click on it
Step 4 – Choose £5 and click the Top Up button
Step 5 – Go through the checkout process, when it comes to asking for payment, choose "other" and not direct debit, this will let you select a card to pay
--thanks to chrismahon for this info

Unless someone proves otherwise, the free data is only on PAYG Phone Sims and NOT Data Sims for Tablets, Mi-fis or Dongles (unless you've bought the tablet from EE since Oct 15).

A connection action is an action that must be taken to maintain your connection. This includes, by way of example only, topping up Your Account, using data, making a chargeable call or sending a chargeable text. A full list of connection actions is set out in EE’s booklet of charges which can be found at ee.co.uk.

Sorry didn't read doesn't seem to bad. How much data do you get for the fiver original top up

No idea. Probably not a lot. But it looks like so long as you "use data" every 180 days, it'll stay active. I'd probably use the £5 to send a text every six months or so just to be sure it doesn't disconnect.

100mb is like watching 1 3 min video on YouTube

In HD it is yeah, 100mb isn't gonna go far. Still a good deal for those thinking of moving to EE

I think it's more geared towards people who want to check their email once in a while, or use WhatsApp and FB Messenger, not heavy media users

I haven't read the t&c's but suspect the fiver expires after the first 30 days - don't quite me on that.

even though, I have to say it could be useful for some though.

what is the point of 100mb of 4g data, even if it is to view email why would you want that at rocket speed as to not using 3g, the difference will be just seconds

100mb? I use more than that just taking a dump

Pathetic.

£5 quidco £5.25 topcashback so it could be free! Heat

100mb wtf? Useful in 2001 maybe

All this will do is make you accidentally spend the fiver by flying past the limit you try to do anything.

100mb, I suppose at the price it's worth it for the kids.... Have some heat!

"It's impossible to go over your data limit. If your data runs out, you simply buy more – no hidden charges here."
"If you're out of data, the first thing you'll see is a page with the data add-ons available to buy – along with details of your current credit."

It sounds like you can't "go over", and it'll ask you to spend some credit on buying more data.

Why not just buy multiple SIMs then?

It may be useful in some way. In some cases, you don't actually need a lot of date. Thinking about to get a Moto G and put this sim card in and use the mobile as a sports tracker. Then I can use Running keeper or other Apps. I have a Note3, It's impossible to carry it while I am jogging, .(_;)

No, your cash credit doesn't expire, so long as the SIM is kept active.

Good point, it's a bit ambiguous on that page. Another page explains it better:

"All our pay as you go phones come with the gift of 100MB free, every single month. No end date. No catches. It really is that simple."
Source: shop.ee.co.uk/mob…ils

And then from the terms and conditions for the offer:
"The promotion is open to anyone aged 16 or over who purchases an EE pay as you go handset or EE pay as you go SIM (‘Eligible SIM’) from EE between 15 October 2014 and 28 December 2014"

Does anyone know how data hungry Google maps or waze is? Thinking of using this for sat nav purposes only?

One 3 minute YouTube Video a month free. Amazing stuff. How do they do it.

Glad it's 4G. Very important so you can get use of the full data allowance.

100MB of data? that will last about 5 minutes.

Cold.

Less than that after EE have pushed a good free ads down your way! EE are the pits - no such thing as customer service or honesty with them.

Why people just complaining and moaning here. After all it is free 100MB and better than nothing, isn't it?

Not exactly free cos you paying £5 but still a good for life if it is.

hottt

100mb is alot for messaging.. thanks op

Great deal, for somebody with an unused SIM slot in their tablet, for £5 you get the odd bit of internet when you need it, for years to come.

For a fiver this aint bad

Could be useful for my vu solo box with wifi dongle

**** **** want to hook us up on 100mb then offer a bundle for a £5 every month instead.
