Topcashback is now £100 for 100Mbps.

£25 x 12 months + £25 setup fee - £100 topcashback
= £225/12
= £18.75/month

This is a great deal. Had Virgin Media for a while and they've been brilliant.

I even managed to win BAFTA tickets from them

We cancelled virgin October 3rd and still awaiting our final bill, would have stayed if they had bothered to phone us back but saw this deal on virgins website this morning and my daughter signed up to avoid any accusations of not being a new customer.

Awaiting router delivery to collect+ as virgin now charge a £5 to deliver to home and whats this £25 setup charge ? Im doing a self install its clearly just a money making mick take but at least we are due £40 back from TCB ! (edited)

but cant they still increase the £25pm when they feel like?

And then you are entitled to cancel without penalty, regardless of in minimum term or not.

Really want to like this deal but it’s virgin media and I really do appreciate some people have a good experience.

For me, terrible customer service, the headline speeds mean nothing. Awful jitter, 100, 200, 350Mbps is no good when streaming quality is terrible from jitter and even packetloss.

Shame really as fibre to home is exactly what we all should get in 2018/19 from bt too.

If this was a renewal you should also be entitled to the cooling off period. I would cancel then wait for the "call back" from the retentions team that actually have authority to make deals rather than quote only what the system will allow them to put through.

You need to make sure your marketing preferences are turned on in your account. Follow through a disconnect, if you don't get the call back then ring back up and cancel the disconnect or try to strike another deal.

The one thing I hate about this process (as with all) is the consistency (or lack of) between retention deals. Some are getting lucky, some not so lucky.

This is spot on. Sadly Apple are control freaks (in fairness to keep the OS stable) but on Android you can download an app called Cube ACR which will automatically record incoming and outgoing calls for you without having to open it or do anything. I've started using this after a bad experience and now I'm armed with nothing but a silo of modern warfare call logs.

Yes the best offer I got was £29 per month with 3 months credit.

Still didn't take up the offer as the same deal was £19 per month for me the previous year!

Perfect. Been waiting for Black Friday to switch to them. £27/month (with the activation fee) for 100Mb is a steal. And hopefully in a year when it's renewal time it's easy to haggle with them citing their rivals deals I can jump to
  15. peter1969uk's avatar
Not the same, but I've currently got 350mb plus line rental for £30.

They do talk nonsense. So you move out and someone moves into your address on the same day and wants Virgin installed - are they seriously suggesting the new homeowners couldn't have Virgin for three months?

Why do you even need that speed? I can stream 4K HDR on my mobile hotspot to my tv. You’re just wasting money.

I tried signing up to this last night and this afternoon via online chat (I’m an existing customer - £41pm broadband only). Was told I couldn’t have it. They offered me, both times, the Player Bundle for £32pm. Explained both times that I have a really good Sky deal so that won’t help. They said just put the box into the cupboard if you don’t need it, as it’ll still be cheaper. Told them that was a waste of resources so just give me the £25pm deal. Still no budge.

Called this evening. Got told the best offer I could get was the Player Bundle for £42pm :/ . Told them I’ll leave and go elsewhere. Got put through to Linda in Retentions, and explained that I don’t want TV and I’m only expecting the landline as it comes with the offer. Without any hesitation she said “OK you’re now on £25pm for VIVID100. Just call in October next year and we’ll look to keep you on a good deal”

Yes full speed only works only after midnight when everyone is sleeping. It is really bad on public holidays and weekends as all my street are with them. Wish hyperoptic or BT fibre was available in my street.

Just hang up try with different agent . I have tried this at several places and it always works. But takes time and patience.

They were about to put ours up from £30pm, called and cancelled, was about to sign up to sky and virgin retentions called and offered 18pm, broadband only, no tv/phone, just internet on it's own
So it does depend on who calls from retentions and what they feel like on the day, been paying 30+ for years and never got any decent deals from retentions, they would call and offer a deal that was always a few quid more than the old one. Easiest option is to cancel and sign up with new name a few weeks later.

This is how I feel, but the reality is you have to pick the best from a bad bunch. Prior to this I was on TalkTalk for 18.95 a month with 2mb down and 0.7 up. In fairness no issues until I tried to cancel which is when I had to deal with customer services, that was a story in itself!

My view is that they are all poo. But you have to weigh up what's important to you DL, UL, Cost and Customer Service, some will make compromises on some of those things.

Regardless, it's good to see VM starting to compete with BT, if you're in a good VM area you're quids in with this deal! (edited)
