Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night

I read it as 100w bulb and thought WOW! Then I remembered the old incandescent bulbs used to be 100w anyway

8500lm ! thats a huge amount, i wouldn't want to look at it.

standard 30W led flood light is ~ 2250lm

I bought this amazon.co.uk/gp/…c=1 same output but warm white 6400k is very harsh. Also ip65 with pir. Came within 5 days ( much quicker than advertised) Haven't put it up yet but looks good quality. Looks bigger than this but large reflector so should get a bit more even spread of light.

THAT would be mega bright

No reason it shouldn't be, just a short pigtail (about 40cm) of 6amp 3 core attached so enough to go through a cavity wall if you don't want to use a weatherproof junction box. Gotta remember a 500 watt R7 halogen gives off a similar output so a 100 watt led is certainly not overkill.

use a waterproof junction outside
if the led light develops a fault, it will be way easier to change

I know this, as the one i didn't have a junction box went faulty.

Cheers OP, they also have 2700k and 4000k for a similar price, I went for the 4000k

Or when it fails use the existing cable ie chop it at the light THEN fit a waterproof box

Dont do things until you have to

I like your way of thinking

These lights now come as Chip on Board or COB. Much more efficient than individual leds. Still voted hot
