Good, solid tablet which can be much improved by flashing Cyanogenmod 10.2 (Android 4.3). The stock software is horribly slow & bloated.

How so? Mines still on 4.1.1.

Hardware is quite a bit behind the curve but price is not bad for a 10" tablet.

Damn. Will the 10" get it? That's the update with multi users isn't it?

I already have an app for it, but would be nice anyway.

in September, i think. Their other flagship devices will jump straight to 4.3. The multi user feature will be on the 4.2.2 update but i'm looking forward to getting gesture typing on my Tab 2

Worth getting for browsing and streaming films from a NAS? Or should I be shopping for something with a bit more grunt?

Thanks reserved one

My mistake above I have the 7" tab 2 which has been I updated to 4.2.2. No multi user facility that I can see and no gesture typing by default - available if you install the Google keyboard from play store.

Good deal. Just ordered one in Peterborough. Thx OP.

good price, but I am hoping the nexus10 will drop in price when a newer model comes along.

The same as a ipad 2 and this has more ram then that don't see people complain about it.

Personally I would go for the 16gb Nook HD+ for £159 @ Argos, 1.5Ghz Dual processor, Full HD with a far superior screen and £30 cheaper....

It's called:

SwitchMe Multiple Accounts

It required rooting, but I've been using it since Christmas and it's brilliant. It's on the Play Store.

I had one of these, had to sell it, the lag was horrendous! even after the 4.2.1 update.

I flashed a custom rom, new kernel and over clocked the cpu... it still couldn't cope with the average of tasks.

The screen has shocking viewing angles and the touch screen is very temperamental.

The good things are the stereo front facing speakers and the size and weight of it.

I've used cheap 10.1" tablets for around £100-150 and they are far superior to this.

Such a shame as i've owned a Galaxy S1, S2, S3 and now own a S4 so i know Samsung can make excellent products, this is not one of them.

I'm an Android developer and i get to use a lot of tablets, so yes they were better than the Tab2 10.1

The last cheap tablet i had to compare to the tab2 was the Zoostorm PlayTab 10.1 for £119. the playtab's 720p screen was a million times better quality than the samsung. it had a 1.6Ghz dual core cpu compared to the 1.0ghz dual core samsung. also was was running pure android which was slick and smooth compared to the laggy touchwiz. it also had a micro HMDI output.

Compare the Playtab to a top end android tablet (XperiaZ) and it will look bad, compare it to the Tab2, and it will look superior.

Samsung made the Nexus 10 for Google, which is an amazing tablet with a stunning screen, why on earth are they making crappy tablets under their own brand?

Whilst I respect your opinion, I simply can't agree. Since last christmas I have used several 'chinese' 10.1 IPS models, all of which needed to be returned. This samsung product is significantly better, despite possibly having -- on paper -- lower specification.

The screen is exceptionally good and in my experience it out-performs the allegedly higher spec'd chinese options. I tried several models form A1CS, now F5CS on Amazon. What a waste of several months in my opinion.

I paid this price for two refurbished versions of this model a few months ago and I was delighted. This is a hot deal, as the stats imply. I remain impressed with the ones we have, they still look like new and operate as well as the first day we got them. Don't expect the chinese imports to last - you have been warned ! oO

I have this tablet after buying it when it was on the CPW/John Lewis price match + £50 cashback offer last January. It's a great tablet, but this price is much HIGHER and it's almost 9 months later. Is there nothing better for this price point?

Or learning to spell properly.

Looks good, have some heat! Still not good enough to make me upgrade from my Touchpad on CM10.1 though. But then I only really use it for podcasts, web browsing and watching videos!

I sold my Touchpad & got one of these and haven't regretted it, it's a lot snappier.

I had one of these, they are horribly laggy. There really not worth the money, specs are outdated and the firmware will be soon, even after the update

I am typing this on an original Galaxy Tab 10.1 running Cyanogenmod Jelly Bean and custom ROM at 1.4GHz. There are plenty of guides out there for anyone willing to "customise" their tablet. Jelly bean makes things much smoother and overclocking the CPU helps further. For £!89 it's a bit of a bargain.

isnt 10.1 the stable release?

Great price. Love my galaxy tab2. The main selling point for me was the sd card slot to add another 32gb to it. Plus the iPads operating system is too restrictive

Really like mine, just a shame you cant do HDMI out to a big TV.

Yes but 10.2 is now perfectly good for daily use, very stable & fast & no bugs that I can see.

Apple fan here but I got to admit this is a great deal!
