This may be a bit early planning but Morrisons are selling off their gritting salt. 10kg bags of rapid ice melt for 8p was £1.99. Couldn't resist the offer!

You should forward this to the local councils. They might not run out this time!

No this is salt and not tarmac, this will just be washed away if used in potholes.

Is this in store or on petrol forecourt.

I believe my local council tried this approach after the previous winter.

Unfortunately it doesnt seem to have been successful.

The council are currently in negotiations with a major candy floss producer to sort out this years potholes once and for all.

it should be both if any stock left. if you cant find it just ask as they may be keeping it out in the warehouse for next year.

FYI redcar sold out in jan. this was originally £3.99, 2 for £6

No, you put tables in your battery operated table grinder, the salt goes in the battery operated salt grinder.

I've just heard off a friend who knows the son of someone who cleans the floors for the local council that this year, we're trying out marshmallows for two reasons - One - cheap, and Two - great fun for the kids when there aren't any cars coming!

Road salt does go out of date, at 8p no risk, but probably why it is not being stored to sell next winter.

Grrrrr! lol

if I lived near a Morrisons I would buy a good few bags and store them till winter great price . Heat added

borrowed my old mans trailer, filled it up, then filled his garage up with the bag

will make a fortune selling this to mugs in the winter

shouldn't this be getting really cold?

Do Morrisons sell gritting pepper too ?

ERM...
Its salt it will absorb moisture in the air then lose the ability to absorb more moisture from the ground
HENCE WHY MORRISON is sellling so if you have some idea how you will find roads to salt now
when there is no SNow go ahead if not i am with morrisons in making 8p on a product with 0 uses right now
(ps not a great idea to try to eat these might not be healty)
Otherwise use your normal salt for grit there is a reason they call this gritting salt
LOL
i feel bad for anyone who tried to eat this think about your heart

If what you say is true, how would it absorb water in a sealed bag? I have rock salt from 2 years ago in a recycling bin and it was perfect this and last year.
