10kg cheap coal £2.99 a bag @ B&M

Cheap small bags of coal, were £4.49, now £2.99.

I usually buy 25kg bags and get three all day fires out of each of them, so you'll get a full day and some left from this or two to three shorter "after work" evening fires.

Will certainly do a full day on Christmas if you're too poor to be burning real coal the rest of the week.

These are handy for keeping inside (i have a basket) and saves a cold trip to the shed

I think it's subjective like fuel costs and hotels, regular coal here is £8.99 for 25kg, this is cheaper. Of course the wood I've been collecting from the builders down the road is free, but it's messy, not as hot, and what looks like a decent stack of firewood for the evening is gone in 30 minutes, plus it spits on the carpet! I'll get coal for Christmas day so we can just have warm. Uk Christmas 2013, pretty sad really.

These are ok, they are somewhat small pieces of coal, if you want decent coal and you use it use a merchant like CPL. They did manage to c**k a price up on the website the other week and if you ordered columbian housecoal you got it for -£26.67 (yes that's not a typo it is a minus), so adding that with a positive figure I ended up with 35 bags of 25kg of stuff for £52.15 and I was gobsmacked when they delivered it. Now I just have to figure out where to put the dam stuff.

Try something like this - it lasts longer and is warmer - coals2u.co.uk/wil…ked, alternatively if you do use it a lot try Taybrite a little more expensive but it lasts and you don't use a great deal.

But they're selling exactly the same coal as in my post for £4.84 - not a good deal.

What you are buying is c**p they have sifted out from mining large doubles and trebles if that's what you want to burn that's fine, but they don't last and they don't give off as much heat. Anyone with an open fire or burner knows the difference. If you only want to burn one bag a year go to B&M.
