10 cans of the fizzy stuff at B&M this morning was bulk stacked at £3.25 each, but scanning at £1.99.

Not sure if this is a regular thing or not as I've not been in that shop for ages, but thought I'd share in case this hasn't been mentioned before!

BARGAIN AT 20P A CAN!! (19.9p)

EDIT: dated this month (April)

Love Coke Zero, shame not all stores and pubs stock it!

Zero is the best Coke imo. Saying that, there ain't no way I'd drink out of date/nearly out of date Zero (or any other drink). Don't care if they're giving it away for free.

Considering the extremely strict safety measures on food and drinks (and for larger companies especially) I wouldn't be surprised if these cans are still very nice and tasty for years.

£1.99 is the correct price.

also nothing wrong with nearly out of date stuff.

doesny turn toxic the day later.

cant speak for this specific deal but I've bought Coke from Morrisons before with the same month expiry date (wasn't reduced, just old stock I'm assuming) and it tasted pretty awful,I even returned it. Obviously though it's probably subjective.

Morrisons doing Pepsi all varieties, including Max, at £2 for 8 (not 10) and well in date. I know it's down to choice but Mrs. Banana and the Captain much prefer Pepsi .. especially Pepsi Max.

But is it still fizzy? No point drinking Coke without the fizz. If it don't have the fizz, it ain't worth the bizz?

plap

prefer real sugar than artificial rubbish which has supposed links to cancer, though naturally everyone in authority denies it....funny that when you get cancer find out alot of the truth....i wouldnt eat battery chickens, factory farmed eggs/milk, genetically modded/processed food, magarine, limit fried food....not easy though

diet drinks:-
Saccharin - 1970s was linked to bladder cancers in laboratory animals, 2000 exonerated -me, sceptical

Aspartame - controversy still remains about link to brain cancer, leukemia and lymphoma

Sucralose - Chlorine, a known human carcinogen, is used in the production of sucralose. lack of long-term studies has not proved if sucralose is or isnt carcinogenic.

sodium benzoate and potassium benzoate, preservatives used in many soft drinks - linked to cancer as well as cell damage that could lead to degenerative diseases like Parkinson's.

link ill stick to sugar version and its own problems...makes you wonder why there havent been extensive studies....money

There's nothing in coke for it to spoil. Once it has passed its best before date (note it says best before, not expiry date), the company (coca cola) cannot guarantee the product will taste as good as a new can. If it has an expiry date, the product will spoil on or after the expiry date.

It's not illegal (don't think anyway) or worse for you to consume stuff that has passed its best before date, but it is illegal (think so) and possibly a little more harmful to consume something that has passed its expiry date.

I think it is illegal to sell them as 'best before' at full price and not being clear that they are, at that time.

they will be best before end april so ok for a few weeks but they will not magically go bad on 1st may, i get bread past its best before from where i work, pop it in freezer nothing wrong with it, not bought bread for months now, use by is another story and eggs are even another story as they have two dates display until and best before

Coke Zero isn't much more than Diet Coke rebranded for dumbass men who don't want to look sissy as they guzzle the neurotoxins which provide the sugar free sweetness.

You have to be dumb to swallow this ****.
And swallowing it will keep you dumb!
Still, it's quite fashionable to be stupid. You wouldn't want to look out of place, now, would you?

It is not illegal to sell anything after its "best before" nor does a shop have to highlight the fact this is the case, however, trading standards would recommend doing so a good practice. It only becomes illegal when the item becomes unsellable for the reason being sold. Nor does a shop have till reduce such item. They just do otherwise they wouldn't clear them.

Coke zero tastes rank, pepsi max is far nicer imo

Pepsi Max

Well what can I say apart from ditto my previous post replacing all mentions of girly Diet Coke with girly Diet Pepsi and all mentions of macho Coke Zero with macho Pepsi Max.

The rivalry between Coca-Cola and Pepsi is a mutually beneficial marketing dream. Neither will taste significantly differently from its counterpart because deviation from the pattern is commercially fatal, remember New Coke?! If you can taste the difference you are either hypersensory, which given your propensity to consume junk and particularly oversweetened gassy flavoured water is doubtful, or you have been manipulated to think that the branding and packaging affects the sense of taste.

Take it from somebody who used to be in marketing until I saw the light (before I ever heard Bill Hicks), you are being suckered. You have been from shortly after your birth and you will be until you die. You keep CEOs in yachts and private jets, Premiership footballers in Aston Martins and talentless morons on television.

Whatever precious goods they tell you that you can't live without will outlive you. It will all become worthless junk. Your life is landfill.
