11GB of 4G Data with a £15 Payg Sim in store EE

Found 25th Mar 2014
So I was looking around York for a replacement for my Ovivo data Sim and found a deal on Parliament Street EE shop which I am told is national whilst stocks last.
I Paid £15 for a top up on an EE pay as you go sim card which then gave me 10GB of 4G data and £15 credit which I was told should buy me another 2GB of data too. The 10GB of data lasts for 90 days or until it is used and the other 1GB will last a month or until used.
I ended up buying 2 of these and they had about 30 left but they were selling fast. you have to ask for the 10GB normal pay as you go Sim they said. I think they were left over from a deal at Xmas that wasn't that popular and they are selling through them.
As said should be national and the cheapest 11GB of 4G I could find. Also leaves you with £5 worth of credit so if you top up another pound can get a further 500MB. Only realised this when I got home and activated it.

Cool has anyone else got this

not sure why this is getting colder. Is there somewhere else you can get 11GB of 4G data for £15?

bagged one my self. data size are specific to sim packet ao I guess whilst stock last

What do I ask for in store and does it last longer then 90days I can put this in a mifi right

Original Poster

It was on the board outside the shop wakkaday, on the sim pack it said 10GB free data so guess if you ask for one of those. No 10GB lasts 90 days, working in my ipad so reckon should work in a mifi.

well I'm using it to buy extra data after the 3 months end so am guessing must have at least 3 months on it Terrabytes, hope that helps but didn't ask them that question.

Your 4G data when in a 4G area:

Hot.I'm after a pre loaded data sim for my tablet.I've seen EE ones on Amazon but cost more than your deal.

Good price for what it is but id prefer no time limit on data use but that's unlikely.

I would personally go for the 3 pay and go tariff as It's unlimited and data speeds more or less same as ee.

Doesnt let you tether though, WIth EE you can do whatever you can use your data however you see fit there is no restriction. Once you've used all your allowance though thats when they are going to rinse your wallet if you choose to carry on using data.

With that said, Im not sure if these sim cards will work in an unlocked 3G/4G dongle. I've just purchased a 6GB EE data sim on amazon just to check out the service and the speeds which im waiting for to be delivered. Ive used 3 mobile broadband before and they throttle the connection hard during the day, same goes for tethering on the one plan. Between the hours of 10am-1pm i cant even get 1 full meg DL its more like half a meg and under.

Three are doing all you can eat data (unlimited) contract with minutes and texts included for £12.50!

Good deal and id definitely purchase some at that price if there's any in my local store as i pay £16.50 for the 6GB sim from Amazon with a 90 day usage limit with EE, I only buy the EE data sim as its a much better price in comparison too 3UK prices of £20+ for a 3GB and 90day limit sim oO

I don't really rate EE too much as im yet too see speeds anything like 3UK gives me, EE im lucky get 5mb most of the time where as 3UK i never get below 5mb a few recent between hours 10am-1pm at various locations in northwest

I am on ee and struggle to get over 8mb speeds but I must say those speeds you are having with 3 are well impressive. I think all consider 3 instead but been reading they have since scrapped the unlimited data. So will have to find out.

These simcards will not activate unless they are sold with a 4G handset.... u will just have a dead simcard until it is processed with a handset using the EE in store system. I know this because I work for EE. if its working for u then fair play. But I doubt it will work.

No, it as to be done at point of purchase. It has to go through the till with a 4G handset for it to activate. its a complicated process... if u want 10GB u need to buy a 4G handset.

u might wanna check your in store offers, as they have changed

Thanks mascott1 picked up 2 this morning in Sheffield. Am hoping to get a payg 4g phone possibly Galaxy note 3 when it drops down to £350 ish on release of new 4 . Seems like a bargain especially as I paid similar to other poster i.e 6Gb for £16 on Amazon just recently. I use that previous bought sim in a EE Huawei E5776, am wondering if I could use these new sims in the Huawei ? Guy in EE shop seem to think so ! Am jealous thou of other posters as I am not getting those 'phenomenal speeds' but compared to the absolutely '**** poor' wifi in the Novotel in Sheffield (Christ how this place has the gall to call itself a 4 star hotel is beyond me !!) it is a Godsend, I specifically went out and bought the E5776 just because I was fedup with the the wifi in the hotel !

Comments out of sync as previous one is being held back presumably because of uploaded image ....

Forgot to say Heat added !

When I bought this data only sim from the EEshop in metrocentre,I was told the same, that the sim deal listed here, will not work without using a 4 g capable phone or will deactivate over a period of time, this contradicted a previous EE shop salesman, who said it would work in a tablet

so it doesnt work?

I'm led to believe you can't use the one plan on a data only device/tablet. You could of course with a phone and tether but seemingly you are not be able to just use the data element in a, I.e nexus or ipad. This was confirmed by someone at three and from my research on forums but perhaps some people have been able to? would be great if you could

This is not true. The offer is a free SIM with 10GB data when you top up £15. It's also available on EEs eBay site. The old offer was with a handset.

Can confirm item 171290495297 - wonder did they do that to stop the jokers selling for £25 to £50?

Nano SIM for iPhone 5 / 5c / 5s also on EE's eBay site, item 181371549179, £15.

You can use the £15 top up to buy 500 minutes and 3000 texts as add-ons, that would last you for 30 days.

Can this be used in a tablet, or will it, like Three's 321 payg offering, tell me to use a phone after a few days?

Got this of ebay today,i have got my 10gb of 4g data, but it also says there is £15 of credit to buy mins and texts.but when i try and call somebody it says i have no credit.
