Got the dreaded 'can't print - replace cartridge' notification and was not looking forward to having to spend £35 which I spent last time just after Christmas (and that was just on a compatible set from Tesco.) Someone told me to try Ebay and I ordered from the site above.

I was a bit skeptical because this was for 3 sets (not just one costing £35) and free postage! However, within 2 days I received the order, nicely boxed and labelled. They work perfectly and I can't believe the money I have saved and have 2 spare sets as well. My printer even recognises them as Epson genuine!

This business has 99.8% positive feedback with 130,070 sales, which is why I bought from them too.

The ink I ordered was for the Epson SX525WD but they sell other cartridges so it's worth a look if you need some or even stock up ready for only £3.09 (depending on the printer cartridge you need/buy.)

No problem - you must have a posher printer hehe! Yes - still a bargain and glad to help

I don't want to spoil a good deal but I feel I have to say that in about 15 years of using Epson printers, I never found any truly compatible non-Epson cartridges. They were either rejected outright (which does not seem to be much of a problem these days) or there was some other issue with the printer periodically whinging about one thing or another. The final straw, as far as Epson printers are concerned, came with my last printer, SFX600FW (if I remember correctly) which every time one colour was empty, led to each other colour needing to be replaced one at a time until, because of the initialisation and head cleaning with each colour, the first colour would be half empty.

When it eventually died, I Googled which printers were most compatible with non-OEM cartridges and Epson came bottom. Top was Brother so that's what I bought. I haven't had a complaint in about eight months.

I'm the exact opposite in that I've never had an issue with my Epson SX515W, all of the compatible cartridges I've bought off eBay have worked fine

Thanks for posting!
Ordered - £6.69 (XP-405)

Bought some for my wf2520 - £4.99 seem to good to be true, but worth a punt at a fiver, especially as the missus never clicks
"black and white only"
Anyone else noticed lots of places now send print confirmation pages with a nice pale blue background (or similar) just to knacker you ink

What en excellently written review, it's almost like you work for them ;-)

No worries but for £3 for three lots of replacements I'm happy as they are working perfectly and seller has great feedback so obviously many people feel the same!

Haha - I honestly don't but thanks for compliment lol! I just had to share because I cannot believe the deal! How can they post 12 cartridges that are working a treat - all sealed and sent in a cardboard box, labelled, posted free for £3 and make a profit?!?

How much ink is in each cartridge I wonder? I mean are these equivalent to normal, XL or more (or.. less?) ink?

I had the same printer, the moment I put 3rd party ink it started going wrong and completely broke down after a few weeks. I bought another, put epson ink and it lasted 3 years. I've just changed up to a HP 8620 (£60 cashback and 3yr warranty) only because it has AirPrint and is more efficient.

3rd party ink can be hit and miss, be careful.

Sorry but you cannot make such a generalised comment 'off ebay they don't work' - fine if your product didn't work - things go wrong purchased in all stores whether expensive shops/businesses or cheap ones. This doesn't mean they all don't work!! 99.8% buyers are happy so...

But you are talking 3 years plus ago!

Never had a problem with 3rd party ink I got from eBay in my XP-405. #justsayin

In fact I had more issues with genuine Epson cartridges.. black text used to smudge randomly even after a heads clean. Never had that with 3rd party carts.

Exactly and for £1 a set! But even the genuine or expensive compatible ones don't seem to last long either - especially for the price of them!

You can set "Black only" as the default on most printer settings. Might be worth a look

Epson had to rank as one of the worst printer manufacturers for ink cartridge problems. we suffered with an Epson printer for several years of black magic to get compatible and genuine cartridges to be recognised.

The carts were very cheap but the never ending frustration of error messages just want worth it.

We now use an HP printer that never has any issues with compatible carts.

thanks - have ordered a black and colour fro my canon 460 for a tenner - I will see what they are like.

Know what you mean (_;)

Hope these are a lot better than a previous cheap set I bought of ebay for my Epson XP 700, the yellow cartridges were full but the ink wouldn't come out and the black printed more like a dark grey.

I have an XP605 and am ready to give up on it even though I only use Epson ink.
I had a brand new cartridge empty itself just from having to install other colours after printing a nozzle check. followed by doing a clean and one small test page

refillable carts and good quality bottled ink if you want your printer to last
the ink quality in compatable carts is not the best.

Hi
Ordered 6 sets = 24 inks.
£7.49 including postage.
31p each for my Epson Workforce
WF - 3540 DTWF.
Never had an issue with compatible inks.
Thank you hump3dumpty.

Just ordered some Dell Toners for £15 full set. Bargain. Pity they dont do a set of Black as an alternative to a full colour set. But at this price, hey ho.

Hope they do the 215 model!

Great find thanks I ordered 12 for my sx425w

Same, i bought that printer from comet a few years back and have used only cheap compatibles with no problems.

I've tried a couple of sellers on ebay for these compatible sets.. they have worked fine but I don't have any "demanding" print jobs..People I know who print on photo paper have suggested that the colour matching can be hit or miss and sometimes have trouble with ink blocks or them just not working
A full set of 6 genuine cartridges for my Epson RX620 is around £60 !! 6 full sets (36 cartridges) of compatibles can be had for around £8-10

They will probably last for 50 pages or less, if U want good deal on ink I recommend CISS, may cost more but will last for waaay longer

"Compatible" ink, cold.

I have been buying ebay compatible cartridges for a few years now ( epson 425x ) never had an issue. For those that dont work, search the internet for information on how to "reset" them. For the more destructive of you out there, take them apart at the chip, there is a watch battery in every cartridge.....weird!
