12 Free Returns per calendar year up to £15 each @ Paypal

This has been added previously but I do think it's good to remind people that if you pay via PayPal and then choose to return the item (if the company doesn't offer free returns - obviously check this first as they may do) then you can return it and get refunded by PayPal up to £15 per return with a maximum of 12 returns per calendar year.

No you can't. What a ridiculous comment. It is totally within your statutory distance selling rights to return items.

Needs to be bought from Amazon though....
Heard eBay getting rid of paypal - they are desperate but 12 returns isnt really leading the way to capture customer wallets.

Still - its a start.
Brilliant offer, saved me a small fortune already

PayPal will be phased out by Ebay by end of 2020 I believe
Never knew about this

I can’t remember how many I’ve claimed. Is there anyway of checking easily

I take it it rolls over every year? 12 every new year?

They used to offer unlimited returns but now unless you say the item is faulty the can charge you.

Banned
Typical mentality of the British Public this........

Returns effectively end up costing the company you have purchased from money......

which eventually means prices will increase when they look to recover losses made on returns.

I know this from working in Customer Services myself - A complete nightmare with the Online Shopping World

RANT OVER

Unless a market place seller... wouldn’t even cover a faulty item to be returned!

I agree, but you can't just return everything you buy.
Amazon do ban people who return more than their unknown quota. They can't deny you a return but they can refuse to sell to you.

They can and do do this I'm afraid. It's your right to return things and it's their right to choose who they want to sell things too.

More than 12 a year despite any advertisement of 12,used much more than 12 in a year myself. Excellent service and much needed when using eBay personally. Using it for years now and never been rejected for a claim.

What a ridiculous comment..... It is also their legal right to refuse to sell to certain people within confines of the law!
Shocked to hear PayPal won't be used through ebay in the future, eBay are likely to see buyers drop a lot.. I feel much safer dealing with people through PayPal.
I've been warned by Amazon regarding my returns rate in the past. Not my fault half the crap they sell has bogus reviews and turns out being subpar.
If PayPal is dropped I might start selling again

Why? It's eBay that charge 10% of sale price. PayPal only charge 3.4% plus 20p

I think they're using their own payment system (I'm sure I read that somewhere) so I'm sure they'll do a similar guarantee and they might also continue offering PayPal as an option but will probably just push their own payment system a little more.
As an ebay buyer I love Paypal and it's refund protection policy.

Scammers will be on the rise this year on ebay then. Elon probably did this just to spite ebay for negating his business. Still love the guy though.

% aint the problem, it's the buyers. If I sell a laptop, buyer receives it, swaps parts over from a faulty one they can claim it doesn't work, even if it took photos, recorded serials etc. They get a free working laptop, I get a broken one. That's just one of the many scams where it's stacked against the seller.

I have bought more recently, knowing if something isn't right, I can send it back without being out of pocket. I have used it on 3 occasions now, and has saved me around £12.
can ebay buyers use this?

Don't think Amazon can ban you unless you return every single item you bought over a certain period of time. Did Amazon threaten you regarding returns?

Roughly how much have you returned say in the last year because I have probably returned 10 items this year I’m not sure if I will get banned

The 3.4% is the problem, eBay sell.your product and has is the one who deals with protection , PayPal just take money and take 3.4% , a bank does this for free!!!
Been like this for years and uploaded multiple times. Nothing new here
Amazon don't allow free returns now! I bought some stuff over Christmas and when I wen't to return a couple due to double ups I was charged a few pounds for each one for postage they just took it off the refund! and they were purchased direct from Amazon.
